Overview

Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As a CO+I Director, IT Operations Metro, you lead and manage a team of individual contributors as well as overseeing data center site services and logistics. This role will give you an opportunity to lead highly effective team.you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent AND 10+ years experience of mission-critical service management (e.g., providing IT services, manufacturing, warehouse, retail, military, or managing physical operations in an IT and/or critical environment infrastructure).
    • OR equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of people management in an organization of full-time employees across multiple disciplines and platforms.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
  • Criminal Justice Information Services: This position may require passing a background check conducted through the CJIS criminal justice information system by authorized local, state and/or federal agencies.

Citizenship & Citizenship Verification:

This position requires verification of citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, and as a condition of employment, the successful candidate’s citizenship will be verified with a valid passport.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Enterprise-level Experience in managing large-scale and complex projects/programs.
  • Working knowledge of audit and compliance requirements in a large global enterprise
  • Problem-solving skills, analytical capabilities, data analysis, and attention to detail
  • Project manage many tasks simultaneously.
  • College or university degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or equivalent experience
Data Center Operations Management M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,800 - $267,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,800 - $294,000 per year.

  • Analyzing production operations and initiate corrective actions to ensure operational stability.
