Overview

Microsoft’s Business Planning organization directs our commercial portfolio’s pricing, packaging, licensing, channel, and monetization strategies. Few organizations exist that have such a direct impact on how Microsoft goes to market, which reverberates across the entire industry. Within Business Planning, the New Commerce and Commercial Strategy organization works across Azure, Microsoft365 (M365) and Dynamics 365 driving cross-cloud monetization strategies for how and where customers buy. This includes defining the strategy for Microsoft’s commerce experiences, channel business models, product licensing and use rights, and support as well as driving growth through audience specific offers and experiences. As well as ensuring the Microsoft Field, Partners and Customers are enabled to adopt those commercial strategies and initiatives.

As the Partner Change Management & Enablement Director in this organization, you will have a tremendous opportunity to drive impact for Microsoft and the broader industry. You’ll have the opportunity to foster, grow, and build a high-performing team focused on Partner change management. You’ll partner closely with stakeholders across extended teams as well as Microsoft Customer and Partner Organization Business operations and engineering to ensure we have buy-in to drive commerce changes across our internal and external stakeholders and audiences.

This role is flexible in that you can work up to 100% from home. This role is in the United States. Relocation assistance is not provided.

You will feed input into change management office and capacity management to ensure we have alignment and focus on the most complex launches requiring significant lift in landing and adoption, as well as getting buy in from our Global Partner Solutions (GPS) leaders to drive change. You will provide thought leadership to your team on how to create change management plans, identifying potential friction/gaps for our customers and partners. Your team will be responsible for working across the GPS Corp and Field organization on integration into new and existing execution processes, partner seller priorities to support our commerce evolution journey.

In this role, you will have two mission critical objectives:

  • Align with GPS stakeholders and our global partners on key needs to support solution sales partner transformation
  • Enable the ecosystem of thousands of Cloud Solution Providers (CSP) and the broader partner ecosystem including indirect providers, and resellers to land effectively commerce changes with our customers.

You will be seen as the key advocate for smooth change and have deep empathy for the challenges our partners face on day-to-day basis. This will be reflected in the partnerships you build with key stakeholders internally and externally. The role involves overseeing the development of partner-specific strategies to drive partner success and business goals by leveraging commerce subject matter expertise. It acts as a key advocate to ensure both internal Microsoft and external partner teams represent the challenges faced by partners. On a day-to-day basis, you will be assessing the capabilities that partners need for successful implementation, while driving a team culture that represents the Voice of Partner throughout new commerce strategy team.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years partner, cloud sales, consulting, licensing or functional experience in finance, engineering, or related
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years domain knowledge of commerce and Microsoft business through working in strategy consulting/Microsoft partner, or related experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • 12+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience AND Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Computer Science, Economics, Business, or related field
    • OR 8+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience AND Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), or related field
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years people management experience.
  • Analytical background focused on extracting insights from data to inform decision making and strategy.
  • Ability to create and track key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • 5+ years experience and a proven track record in developing and implementing strategies that drive significant organizational change at scale across variety of audiences, PROSCI certified, CCMP (the association of change management professionals) or equivalent
  • Leadership abilities, including inspiring and motivating teams, fostering culture of innovation and continuous improvement
  • Proven record in project management, with planning, execution, and optimization.
  • An ability to envision the future state of the organization and develop a roadmap to achieve it.
  • Extensive cross-group collaboration and people skills, including leading cross functional teams
  • Ability to work effectively at all levels - from executives to individual contributors and drive impact

Business Planning M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $129,200 - $248,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $162,000 - $268,900 per year.
