CSCP’s vision is to empower customers to achieve more by delivering Cloud Capacity Differentiated at Scale. The CSCP Organization is responsible for traditional supply chain functions such as Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, but also manages supportability (spares), decommissioning and disposition of Data center assets worldwide. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Skype, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform for external customers. Our infrastructure is comprised of a large global portfolio of more than 200 datacenters supporting services for more than 1 billion customers in over 90 countries worldwide.
The Cloud Sourcing, Spares, Sustainability & Security (CS4) organization within CSCP manages sourcing and supply of IT hardware for the data centers is growing, and we're seeking a Senior NPI Sourcing Manager to join our team. Well-defined and executed sourcing and supply chain management ensures reliable on-time performance, optimized cost, prevents urgent and unplanned investments, and provides accurate and timely information across the supply base and internally across the infrastructure organization. Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 4+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles
- OR Master's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 3+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles
- OR equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of experience in technical sourcing, NPI operations, business development, field application engineering, sales, product line management, or in fields requiring technical & business acumen.
- 3+ years experience in networking hardware.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
- 7-10 years' supplier management experience in an Electronics, or high-volume supply chain and or applicable Manufacturing / Hardware production environment.
- 3-5 years of Program Management and data analytics experience.
- Understanding in the use of MRP, Excel, Power Point, and Power BI. Capable of performing complex data analysis to identify problems or opportunities to improve supply chain performance
- Communication, problem solving skills - ability to manage competing priorities, set clear expectations, collaborate, identify objectives, develop and deliver feedback in written, oral, and presentation formats for partner teams, and senior executive management.
- Skills and knowledge in root cause analysis/problem solving and the ability to implement and drive corrective actions and efficiencies (ability to hold people accountable, and drive closure)
- Ability to work well in ambiguous situations, and deal effectively with conflicting priorities and changes
- MS/MBA preferred
Sourcing Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.

Responsibilities
The role of the Senior Strategic NPI (New Product Introduction) Manager will focus on the following key areas:
- Define and establish Microsoft’s Sourcing strategy for Switching and Network Interface Card technologies to drive competitive advantages for Microsoft cloud offerings.
- Ability to work cross functionally with key internal stakeholders across Capacity Planning, Network Engineering, and Materials Planning for NPI programs in highly dynamic environments.
- Drive engagement with our suppliers and internal stakeholders to identify New Product Introduction (NPI) optimization opportunities and drive product solutions around design for availability and TCO (Total Cost of Ownership).
- Establish appropriate sourcing strategy with relevant partners to drive NPI goals of Technology Adoption, COS (Continuity of Supply), Cost, Contracts, Quality, Business Health, and Sustainability.
- Provide thought leadership and manage strategic initiatives with internal stakeholders and suppliers to support cloud supply chain objectives and strategies.
Sourcing management
- Own the Switching and NIC (Network Interface Cards) NPI sourcing process, partnering with product engineering teams on high visibility technology developments and delivery of innovative solutions.
- Engage with cross-functional leadership including networking architecture, engineering, quality, and business teams to drive most efficient material procurement, qualification, and data center delivery strategies to optimize supply chain, continuity of supply, and total cost of ownership
- Oversee compliance with MSFT requirements for security, social responsibility, and payment terms.
- Manage contracting activities with Legal teams and ensure contracts reflect appropriate business terms, IP (Intellectual Property) protection, etc.
- Ensure suppliers deliver timely corrective actions from business review / audits. Support and meet business cost metrics through the development process.
Manage supplier performance and compliance
- Contribute and deliver supplier relationship management strategies. Cost, operations, and supply management
- High Focus on helping define and document NPI networking topologies and establishing demand for NPI programs with variable schedule and technical requirements.
- Ability to analyze the supply and demand of MSFT’s NPI products and forecast. Be the Sourcing responsible party for coordinating inventory, minimizing both overstock and out of stock occurrences.
- Perform supply shaping activities to help drive the execution and delivery of MSFT finished goods to global data centers.
- Develop and drive Microsoft Internal and external key performance Indicators and metrics.
- Achieve delivery performance targets as developed to support business needs, while consistently evaluating opportunities and supporting process updates to enhance supply chain performance.
- Build multi-sourcing strategies to mitigate risk and drive appropriate competition. Identify cost reduction opportunities and drive supplier competition with cost modelling and other sourcing tools.
- Run weekly, monthly, quarter review with team on cost and operations KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).
