Microsoft Teams Fundamentals organization is looking for a Principal Security Architect to help us drive objectives to meet our goal of offering the most secure and trusted product and infrastructure. This position requires a passion for technology, growth engineering, data-informed decision making, partner engagement, and most of all: customer focus. Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience working in security or backend architectural solutions.
- Experience driving cross organizational partnerships.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 12+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 10+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- Leadership, empathy, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Software Engineering IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $161,600 - $286,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $209,600 - $314,400 per year.

Responsibilities
- Helping guide Engineering teams’ security best practices, finding scaling solutions to identify vulnerabilities and solutions for them.
- Help design solutions for security problems and partner with service teams and other security stakeholders to ensure adoption of solutions and mitigation of threats from beginning to end.
- Collaborating with teams across Microsoft Security Organization to help define the state of the art for detection and investigation data, enabling rabid and effective security investigations across product.
- Identifying emerging security problems that need additional focus, and contributing to building solutions to solve them, utilizing AI and other solutions.
- Works with others to synthesize research findings into recommendations for mitigation of security issues. Shares across teams. Drives change within team, based on research and penetration findings.
- Represent Microsoft in various customer discussions and security forums.
