The Azure Compute and Efficiency Services team is hiring a Technical Program Manager II with experience developing cutting-edge hardware platforms to deliver the latest Virtual Machine products. Success in this role requires a passion for working with a broad range of technical experts to drive high-visibility server hardware programs from concept to global scale. You will work directly with functions such as product management, hardware and software engineering, supply chain, finance and more to create clarity, drive requirements, find solutions and deliver impactful results.
Our server hardware platforms are the foundation of Azure, powering millions of workload instances for internal and external customers. This opportunity will allow you to grow your skills in hardware development, analyze and build multi-generational hardware roadmaps and influence senior leaders across multiple divisions to make the best data-driven decisions. This is a fast-paced industry witnessing an explosion of hardware design innovation and this role is at the center of driving from innovation to reality.

Responsibilities
- Translate product requirements into hardware requirements like performance and quality
- Build a working knowledge of the Azure infrastructure to analyze design option impacts
- Drive data-based decision making to reduce design options to viable recommendations
- Communicate clearly, both written and verbal, with partners and stakeholders at all levels
- Create clarity in the midst of ambiguous technical problems to deliver impactful results
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years of experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
- OR equivalent experience.
- 1+ year(s) of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
- 2+ years of experience in all phases of hardware development (server, enterprise, consumer or other).
- 2+ years experience in communicating clear, organized program plans, status information, and collaborating in written and live forums to achieve results with large, complex sets of stakeholders
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- 4+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
- 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).
- Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years of experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
- OR equivalent experience.
- Experience
- working at a cloud-based company;
- AND designing and/or building complex IT or distributed systems deployments.
- Familiarity with modern cloud infrastructure concepts and design techniques
