The Microsoft Azure Compute Fundamentals Program Management (PM) team drives horizontal customer experiences across Azure Compute Services. We are focused on producing modern solutions in areas of performance, security, reliability and overall deterministic Compute experience driving customer satisfaction and providing a dependable environment for Mission Critical applications on Azure. We combine strong globe-scale platform big-data foundation with Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML) techniques, distributed systems solutions, and deep system acumen to drive innovation that allows us to define and operate our data centers beyond what was possible in the past with traditional techniques. We have resources, industry connections and proven global leadership that helps us to continue delivering those platform innovations. The focus is on the platform experiences that power Compute Services like Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Cloud Services, etc.

Microsoft Azure Compute Technical Program Manager II will manage division-wide initiatives encompassing the Azure Host and Azure Host Components Management and Security, optimizing for Azure application lifecycle, security, availability, reliability, and scale. The role is a central to key Cloud (C) & AI division initiatives on customer experience and platform competitiveness, and you’ll drive some of the areas in a services platform with scale and availability targets that don’t exist in the industry today.

To succeed in this role, passionate about Compute space, Lifecycle management for devices and Security, possess technical and analytical skills, cross-group collaboration skills, and a passion for customers is the critical key. A strong track record of delivery in a services environment is mandatory. Team player role is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Be part of an inclusive and diverse world-class Technical Program Management (TPM) team to deliver new and improve existing Azure services.
  • Work with customers and partner teams to identify scenarios and establish priorities.
  • Lead product planning areas for E2E scenarios based on customer input and data insights.
  • Define Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and establish and execute plans for improving KRs
  • Partner with the development teams on scenarios, product tradeoffs, incremental value delivery
  • Create win-win engagements with partners across Azure and Microsoft to drive customer value.
  • Prepare and deliver high quality executive reviews.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, AND 2+ years of experience in software engineering, software development, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year(s) of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team cloud business projects.
  • 2+ years of experience in cross-group communication AND driving external partners to deliver key technical contributions on defined timelines
  • 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).
Other Requirements

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
    • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, AND 4+ years of experience in software engineering, software development, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • Security background is preferred
Technical Program Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
