Overview
GitHub is looking for an experienced Business Manager with a high attention to detail to support the Operations Org. This role will be responsible for ensuring the org operates efficiently by scaling processes and driving functional deliverables.
Reporting into the Chief of Staff to the COO, the Business Manager will partner closely with Office of the COO staff and with stakeholders across the business on a wide range of responsibilities including: accurate reporting against priorities and activities, business review meetings, and special projects such as budgeting and workforce planning.
We are searching for an analytically-minded, fast-paced, and detail-oriented individual to help us operationalize and streamline the business process and coordination of the Office of the COO (OCOO).

The base salary range for this job is USD $96,400.00 - USD $255,700.00 /Yr.
These pay ranges are intended to cover roles based across the United States. An individual's base pay depends on various factors including geographical location and review of experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant. At GitHub certain roles are eligible for benefits and additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These rewards are allocated based on individual impact in role. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role.

We are searching for an analytically-minded, fast-paced, and detail-oriented individual to help us operationalize and streamline the business process and coordination of the Office of the COO (OCOO).
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with OCOO and Operations leadership to help develop and execute planning processes, ensuring coordination with corporate planning processes as well as planning integration across teams.
- Work with cross-company/team counterparts to manage team participation for key business events, fiscal year planning, budget planning, running business reviews, and other strategic business planning activities.
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) by defining measurement plans and standardizing reporting motions.
- Engage in well-defined projects/programs while executing and managing aspects of projects/programs for larger areas, including work on strategic efforts that require hands-on experience, which may be across multiple disciplines.
- Provides accountability for the team and organization in executing core business activities. Align priorities with key performance indicators (KPIs) and performance metrics.
- Create clarity in ambiguous situations to facilitate and drive prioritization and decision making for leaders across the organization.
- Support the development of content for internal communication.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, business-related roles, or related field
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, Computer Science, Liberal Arts, or related field AND 5+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, business-related roles, or related field
- OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Management, Computer Science, Liberal Arts, or related field AND 3+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, business-related roles, or related field
- OR Doctorate in Business Administration, Management, Computer Science, Liberal Arts, or related field AND 1+ year(s) experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, business-related roles, or related field
- OR equivalent experience.
- Proven ability to work in an independent manner with minimal oversight, and to work across teams and partner well with people with diverse professional backgrounds
- Demonstrated program ownership and consistent delivery against commitments, including strong organizational skills, follow-through, and attention to detail
- Experience working cross-functionally with remote and distributed teams
- Exceptional documentation and written communication skills
- Understanding of the developer ecosystem and GitHub tools
- Experience in the following disciplines:
- Project management
- Priority and budget planning
- Executive operations, including fluency in G-Suite and Microsoft office tools
