As Principal Product Manager in the Cloud Ecosystem Security team, you will be responsible for driving the product strategy across a portfolio of Security products and services. You will identify customers’ unmet or unknown needs for complex situations, particularly with cross portfolio impact, influencing stakeholders and other team members while bringing them along, gaining buy in, and market opportunities for enhancement or development of new products/services across divisional boundaries via quantitative (e.g., usage, telemetry) and qualitative analysis (e.g., customer usage, various listening systems, feedback channels of market and industry trends), look for patterns in the data across the portfolio, and scope the impact and prioritization. Ensure alignment between divisional boundaries and define objective and key results (OKRs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). You will define or influence the long-term vision and strategy for the portfolio based on a deep understanding of customer needs, use cases, scenarios, market and user research, the competitive landscape, and Microsoft’s business goals and strategy. You will also collaborate with others (e.g., Business Planning, Finance, Support, Customers, Product Marketing) to identify the customer base and communicate the product strategy to internal and external customers and build consensus through multiple methods (e.g., conference presentations, collaboration with partner organizations). You will act as a product subject matter expert and collect and include different views when collaborating with Product Marketing, Business Planning, and Engineering to identify product release criteria, customer acquisition, usage, retention, and monetization strategies. You will execute on major opportunities to evangelize the portfolio with internal and external stakeholders, partners, analysts, and customers in the industry via presentations, blog posts, social media, and other forums. Act as the primary interface and collaborate with Product Marketing to educate on the product and develop content. Finally, ensure that the product vision is aligned with customer goals, you will participate in customer communities, customer engagement programs and drive improvement in the customer support process.

Responsibilities

  • Inform the product strategy while working closely with customers and internal partners.
  • Collaborate with and influence cross functional teams across engineers, marketing, sales, customer success, data science, and finance to drive customer understanding and business growth strategy.
  • Be able to understand, break down and clearly articulate complex functional technical and business challenges.
  • Drive execution against the strategic plan and OKRs, accelerating adoption, usage, and Microsoft’s security portfolio business. Engage with technical, sales, engineering, field and marketing executives to gather input and garner support for product vision, strategy, and roadmap.
  • Drive strategic direction in identifying data-informed, overall solution-level investment opportunities, evaluating tradeoffs, and prioritizing investments in consultation with cross-organization partners.
  • Mentor members of the team and model Microsoft values and role best practices.

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Solid technical knowledge of cloud security solutions for large-scale environments

Additional Or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.
Product Management IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $161,600 - $286,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $209,600 - $314,400 per year.
