The Microsoft Security Response Center (MSRC) is looking for a Technical Program Manager to join our security vulnerability case management team. In this role you will build and lead the end-to-end response process for all security vulnerabilities reported to MSRC in collaboration with security engineers across the company and external security researchers across the globe. This position will allow you to expand on your curiosity to understand rapidly evolving billion-dollar services and help protect customers, Microsoft, and communities from threats to security and privacy. Responsibilities

  • Drive Microsoft’s end-to-end security vulnerability response process for speed, transparency, and collaboration in partnership with stakeholders across the company.
  • Triage and analyze product and service security vulnerabilities, including Windows, Microsoft Cloud services, Microsoft Office online and on-prem and other Microsoft products and services.
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team to represent Microsoft with external individuals and organizations reporting security vulnerabilities to Microsoft.
  • Develop, monitor, and analyze key performance data to identify and recommend process improvements and automation.
  • Collect and analyze security researcher, partner, and customer feedback to identify and recommend improvements to the end-to-end response process and external and internal engagement.

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year(s) of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years of experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos). 4+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • Experience investigating security vulnerabilities and exploits
  • Security vulnerability case management, triage, and communication or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Security Development Lifecycle (SDL)
  • In-depth knowledge or strong demonstrated capacity to learn product and service security concepts
  • Ability to distill and explain complex technical and security concepts to different types of audiences
  • Experience collaborating with the security vulnerability research community

Technical Program Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
