Overview

GitHub is growing and looking for a motivated individual to lead our Deal Desk and Order Management teams. This role is pivotal in ensuring the strategy and execution of our deal strategy and structure, as well as executing an efficient processing of those deals. The successful candidate will be well versed in managing teams and creating and optimizing operational processes.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the end to end deal structure to deal closure processes
  • Align with senior leaders in the Revenue organization to ensure processes are understood, adhered to and do not delay processing
  • Lead a global team of Deal Desk Managers to cover a large global sales organization, understand internal best practice parameters for profitable deals, mange set discount processes and ensure all systems are updated with all deal information
  • Lead a team of order management professionals to process orders, assist field sales in configuring customer quotes, ensure accuracy of bookings in CRM, provision products/services, perform UAT for various system improvements/initiatives and identify system bugs and work with Business Systems team to resolve
  • Facilitate the sales approval and standardized contract document generation processes and ensure compliance with published sales and business approval policies with peers within Microsoft Deal Desk
  • Foster and maintain strong working relationships with critical business partners, Revenue Operations & Enablement, as well as Finance, Product, Legal and other functions in an as needed basis to expedite the review/approval process and ensure operational readiness
  • Systems expertise to automate and simplify the deal flow and deal validation processes
  • Measure deals desk efficacy and efficiency (based on external benchmarks and best practices) and drive continuous improvement initiatives to deliver a smoother, easier and frictionless experience
  • Managing, mentoring, and fostering a synergy within the team and thinking of creative ways to challenge and develop personnel on the team
  • Bring innovative best practices to evolve the Deal Desk & Order Management team to be proactive change leaders within the Revenue organization

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 12+ years experience in sales operations, project management, analytics, compensation, sales performance analytics, finance/business analyst, process improvement, business development, customer success, finance, marketing operations, or a related field
    • OR Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Sales, Accounting, Information Systems, Social Sciences or related field AND 10+ years experience in sales operations, project management, analytics, compensation, sales performance analytics, finance/business analyst, process improvement, business development, customer success, finance, marketing operations, or a related field
    • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Sales, Accounting, Information Systems, Social Sciences, or related field AND 8+ years experience in sales operations, project management, analytics, compensation, sales performance analytics, finance/business analyst, process improvement, business development, customer success, finance, marketing operations, or a related field
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years people management experience.
  • Previous experience leading and managing a distributed Deal Desk function.
  • Experience in complex deal structuring (for software license/consumption models, services and renewal deals) and advising on booking and revenue recognition implications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in order management including contract review, quote structuring and software provisioning.
  • Experience with Salesforce.com, CPQ, and other sales related systems including pricing, data enrichment tools.
  • Experience with PowerBI.
  • Experience with Zoura.

Compensation Range

The base salary range for this job is USD $122,500.00 - USD $325,000.00 /Yr.

These pay ranges are intended to cover roles based across the United States. An individual's base pay depends on various factors including geographical location and review of experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant. At GitHub certain roles are eligible for benefits and additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These rewards are allocated based on individual impact in role. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role.
