Overview

GitHub is looking for an Executive Communications Business Partner to drive internal and external communications strategy and execution for GitHub’s Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). This role will serve as a strategic thought partner to the CRO, crafting communications and thought leadership that support GitHub’s company priorities and engage key audiences around its go-to-market (GTM) strategy.

This role reports to the Director of Executive Communications, and the right candidate will be knowledgeable about revenue organizations, go-to-market strategies, and enterprise technology. You will partner closely with the broader communications team and key company stakeholders to identify multi-channel opportunities to drive business impact, enable shared understanding of GitHub’s GTM strategy, and amplify GitHub’s brand.

You understand the power of words and are masterful at finding the right combination to convey a message. You are skilled in writing and editing for an executive’s unique voice, and you have a gift for storytelling. You are both a strategist and an executor with high attention to detail and proven experience building and executing an integrated communications strategy that elevates a leader’s platform in service of company goals. Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with GitHub’s Director of Executive Communications and Office of the CRO to build insights-driven, strategic communications for the CRO, aligned with the company’s priorities and mission.
  • Create and maintain a scalable messaging strategy with core narratives and programs for internal and external audiences.
  • Own internal and external communications deliverables for the CRO including external thought leadership and speeches/keynotes, social media strategy, and crafting tailored messages for a variety of audiences (developers, customers, partners, Microsoft, Hubbers).
  • Monitor internal and external channels to identify opportunities and risks, and prepare reactive statements as needed.
  • Partner with the corporate communications, internal communications, visual communications, customer evidence, analyst relations, marketing, content, revenue, and social teams on key brand campaigns and product launches, company events and other key moments.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years experience in internal communications, executive communications, public relations (in-house or agency).
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field AND 5+ years experience in internal communications, executive with communications, public relations (in-house or agency), or related field.
    • OR Master's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field AND 3+ years experience in internal communications, executive communications, public relations (in-house or agency).
  • Experience with project management, editing, and writing skills with examples of successfully leading multi-channel communications initiatives from ideation to execution and evaluation.
  • Experience developing compelling speeches and keynote presentations.
  • Experience working and coordinating across a wide range of business functions, including Communications, Revenue, Product, Customer Engagement or Brand/Content.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience advising and supporting C-level executives.
  • Experience in the software development, AI, or technology industries.
  • Experience navigating a fast-paced, complex business environment with a remote workforce.
  • Knowledge of communications measurement approaches, and ability to extract data-driven insights.
  • Understanding of SaaS Go-to-Market strategy.

Compensation Range

The base salary range for this job is USD $89,200.00 - USD $236,600.00 /Yr.

These pay ranges are intended to cover roles based across the United States. An individual's base pay depends on various factors including geographical location and review of experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant. At GitHub certain roles are eligible for benefits and additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These rewards are allocated based on individual impact in role. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role.
