Tech for Social Impact (TSI), was formed as the first social business within Microsoft to support the existing long-standing philanthropy commitment that Microsoft has to the nonprofit sector worldwide and is part of the larger Corporate External and Legal Affairs (CELA) organization. TSI combines sales, philanthropy, solution development and partnerships as one integrated team, powered by a sustainable business model where profits are reinvested back into our Philanthropies initiatives.

In fiscal year 2024, TSI invested in a new Social Impact Business Development team. This team incubates new, strategic initiatives aligned to Microsoft’s broader commitment to the integrity and security of critical infrastructure, including Political Campaigns, Rural Hospitals, and our Microsoft Threat Analysis Center. All of these initiatives are focused on ensuring the resilience and security of key communities, industries, and governments that are strategic to the company, yet lack direct account team coverage for technology adoption and customer success. The TSI Social Impact Business Development team directly supports these key constituencies, and in doing so advances Microsoft’s business interest in building trust, differentiating our cloud offerings, and driving responsible use of AI.

The Sales Business Development Lead role will support the business planning for the business development team, including identifying the next “strategic infrastructure” investment, including monetization opportunities, offer development, and long-term revenue planning. They will also own the end-to-end business review process, including dashboard development, reporting and KPI measurement. The candidate will serve as the primary point of contact (POC) for collaborating across key stakeholder teams in CELA (USGA, Public Affairs, Airband Democracy Forward), Public Sector and HLS Sales, and ISV incubation teams. Finally, this person will be on point for developing and ensuring visibility of our team’s success, including external relationships and impact stories. Candidates for this role will be able to stretch across strategic business planning to highly tactical execution.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.
