Microsoft’s MAIA architecture team is looking for outstanding Performance Analysis Architects to help analyze, and accelerate AI application performance on Microsoft’s custom AI accelerators

Responsibilities

  • Analyze performance and power efficiency of critical deep learning workloads
  • Understand and analyze the boundaries of hardware and software interface on forward looking algorithms
  • Prototype opportunities for performance and power optimizations, and trade-offs on AI accelerators
  • Actively collaborate with hardware and software implementation teams, to guide the direction of deep learning hardware and software

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 9+ years of related technical engineering experience Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience or internship experience
    • OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience or internship experience Doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science
  • 5+ years of experience with Python, C, C++
  • 7+ years of experience with performance modeling at various levels of abstraction, and analysis
Other Requirements

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS or PhD in relevant CS/EE/CE
  • Background in deep neural network training, and inference workload optimizations
  • Experience in architecture and workload analysis on GPUs

Silicon Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
