The Azure Storage Data Management team is looking for a talented Senior Software Engineering to design, implement and ship new features as part of the Azure Storage Data Management team, which is focused on revolutionizing how data is managed and accessed globally. In this role, you will be immersed in cutting-edge technology, tackling diverse challenges, and driving innovation that impacts businesses and individuals worldwide. As a Senior Software Engineer in the Azure Storage Data Management team, you will also help drive and improve the reliability and performance of Azure Storage Data Management services.
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Azure Storage Data Management team, you will involve design, implement and ship product code that scales to the largest and most demanding storage and latency requirements on the planet. Responsibilities
- Designs, leads the development of, builds, maintains and operates services with high traffic, high resiliency with millions of requests across multiple global regions.
- Collaborates with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a scenario.
- Drives identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product, application, service, or platform.
- Creates, implements, optimizes, debugs, refactors, and reuses code to establish and improve performance and maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI).
- Leverages subject-matter expertise of product features and partners with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project managers) to drive a workgroup's project plans, release plans, and work items.
- Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guides other engineers by developing and following the playbook, working on call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, alerting stakeholders about status and initiates actions to restore system/product/service for simple and complex problems when appropriate.
- Proactively seeks new knowledge and adapts to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, or Java.
- OR equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, or Java.
- OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, or Java.
- OR equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of professional software development experiences building scalable, distributed services with C++ or C#.
- Proficiency in software engineering practices, coding and solid foundation in data structures, algorithms with testing, debugging and analytical skills with passion for customer satisfaction, innovation, and quality.
- Proven track record of delivering successful products and features that meet customer needs and business objectives.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment, with multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
