Are you a self-motivated and results-driven Product Manager (PM) who is passionate about delivering new software capabilities in a modern, rapid cadence that delights not only our end customers but also the engineers who write the code? Join the One Engineering System (1ES) team. Our mission is to empower the world's best engineering teams with world-class tools and systems, enabling the development and delivery of products our customers love. As part of the Security Tooling platform team within 1ES, we are seeking a Principal Produc Manager to drive the static analyzers platform at build time.
We are a hybrid team with members spread across the globe. We work together, support each other, and succeed as a unit. Collaboration with many other teams at Microsoft and GitHub is a key part of our approach. We move swiftly to seize opportunities, but always sustainably. Our environment encourages experimenting, learning from mistakes, and continuous improvement.
Your ideas, skills, and unique perspectives are vital in driving our products and culture forward. If you're eager to significantly impact software development efficiency and enhance developer satisfaction, we encourage you to apply!
Responsibilities
As a PM in the 1ES Security Tooling team, you'll be the first line of defense against malicious attackers. You'll use both qualitative and quantitative analysis to identify gaps or failures in our current toolset, and you'll rapidly design feature experiments to address those gaps. Once you have a successful small-scale experiment (that you prove is successful through objective data analysis), you'll take pride in deploying your solution to over 50,000 Microsoft engineers, and knowing (and showing!) that your efforts have made Microsoft customers safer.
The focus of this role is to evolve and execute the strategic roadmap for Static Analysis at build time. This work begins with understanding both articulated and unarticulated customer needs, and continues with designing, building, and scaling solutions end-to-end.
Required Qualification:
Bachelor’s Degree
Senior level experience in product/service/project/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.
Relevant Product Management experience
Demonstrated experience in security for software developers
Preferred Qualification
Experience with static analysis security tooling (SAST) and/or dynamic analysis security tooling (DAST), understanding developer impact and driving remediation
Deeper knowledge and experience on Engineering systems platforms like ADO, GitHub and DevOps/DevSecOps.
