The Small and Medium Business (SMB) segment within Small, Medium, Corporate (SMC) is at the leading edge of growth and transformation. As a Business Analytics Director for the Small and Medium Business (SMB) segment, you will own and evolve the data solutions that power our breadth business across the Microsoft sales organization. You will deeply understand and articulate stakeholder needs into action-oriented insights and analysis, industrial reporting, and analytical models in partnership with engineering to accelerate our business results and execute strategies. The Small, Medium, Corporate (SMC). Analytics team are insatiably curious data professionals who lean into uncertainty, take risks, and learn quickly from our mistakes. We build on each other’s ideas, and contribute our deep understanding of business goals, strategic drivers, success outcomes and behaviors to influence strategy & results. We seek a business intelligence leader who loves big data challenges, excels at story-telling, and partners exceptionally with stakeholders.

In this role, you will collaborate with sales leaders, engineers, and capability owners to define business needs, architect and evolve our data platform, and render data into deeply insightful BI products. The successful candidate would be a results-driven collaborator, self-directed and customer obsessed. Responsibilities

  • Define & deliver business requirements for operational reporting, objectives and key results, and action-oriented analysis to land global sales organization goals & customer value-proposition across regions, factoring in needs of executive leadership, strategy & sales excellence leads, field managers/sellers and our customers and partners.
  • Drive governance and prioritization of BI work, ensuring tight alignment of projects to business needs
  • Collaborate with product, program and engineering teams to design & execute BI dashboards and develop robust data models.
  • Drive data analysis and reporting needs for the organization, supporting monthly/quarterly business rhythm, and establish a regular communication of insights and impact to key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate across the company to ensure consistency, quality, and avoid duplication across BI tools, systems, and data platforms
  • Advocate fiercely for effective processes, seamless change management, agility and speed in our BI development & stakeholder ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with data scientists & engineering to drive deeper insight and explore advanced models to solve business problems.
  • The successful candidate will demonstrate passion and skills aligned with business insights and data analysis, and exceptional program management and leadership skills
  • Advanced experience with PowerBI, Excel, and data modeling skills and working knowledge of statistical concepts, methods, and approaches
  • Proficient in data-driven storytelling via reports & exec visualizations: ability to frame complex analyses and tell succinct, impactful stories tomanagement
  • Customer-obsessed and inclusive collaborator, brings diverse perspectives together to create successful data products
  • Experience using statistical programming languages (Python, SQL) for data access, wrangling, and statistical modeling preferred
  • Fluency designing and leveraging data mining products and techniques using SQL, Data Warehouse, Azure Synapse, Fabric preferred

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, Economics or related field AND 7+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis
    • OR Master's Degree in Mathematics, Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, Economics or related field AND 5+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis
    • OR equivalent experience.
Additional Or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, Economics or related field AND 10+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis
    • OR Master's Degree in Mathematics, Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, Economics or related field AND 7+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis
    • OR equivalent experience.
Business Analytics IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $124,800 - $242,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $159,000 - $264,000 per year.
