The Industry Team brings together our Industry Go-To-Market (GTM) and Industry Marketing Teams to drive integrated GTM plans to support getting sellers ready to sell (Sales Enablement), our Buyers Ready to buy (Demand Generation & Conversion) and Activating our Industry Partners (Co-selling & Co-Marketing) with a focus on opening more doors with Business Decision makers to support pipeline generation, revenue acceleration and ultimately increased Market Share

The Industry Team sits within Microsoft America’s Sales Enablement & Operations (SE&O) team;

The Sales Enablement & Operations (SE&O) team plays an essential role in translating Microsoft’s Commercial Strategy to a local execution plan and driving operational excellence to achieve the greatest results possible. Our team drives cross-Region, cross-Area and cross-Subsidiary insight and execution excellence, bringing strategy and priorities to life by accelerating the pace of transformation and enabling Microsoft to deliver business impact at scale.

The Industry Go To Market Manager develops and executes business strategy and tracks the efficacy of plans across the business to drive sustainable growth within and beyond the boundaries of the fiscal year. They lead the definition and orchestration of strategic go-to-market (GTM) plans across the business. Drives area leadership through revealing and pursuing long-range, white-space growth opportunities and investment plans. In this role, you will work with the Software and Digital Platforms (SDP) Industry Team; this industry is focused on companies building the next generation of Software and Digital Platforms.

Responsibilities

Industry Advocacy

  • Acts as the primary industry advocate, evangelizing across products within the portfolio and across the business.
  • Identifies and develops strategies to drive cross-selling scenarios and attach points across product/service area(s).
  • Provides guidance to sales in customer engagements (e.g., resources and programs, practices for scaling, change management, and deal coaching for segments), and counsels partner practice leads.

Business Management

  • Develops and executes business strategy and tracks the efficacy of plans across the business to drive sustainable growth within and beyond the boundaries of the fiscal year.
  • Actively leads and engages with all stakeholders across the area/subsidiary for One Microsoft orchestration.
  • Leads regular cadence of connections with corporate (e.g., Microsoft Customer and Partner Solutions (MCAPS); global sales, marketing, and operations, the business group, engineering) to execute strategic planning.

Go-To-Market (GTM) Strategy, Planning, and Delivery

  • Develop plans inclusive of marketing, field, consulting, customer success, and partner functions that support a One Microsoft approach to overall business strategy and execution.
  • Build Industry GTM Plan with Sales, Services, Partner, and Marketing to drive business growth and align Industry solution plays and programs to Area capability.
  • Land programs and investments with a solid return on investment (ROI) aligned to Corporate and local priorities.
  • Drive Change management to accelerate growth and lead the team to deliver on targets by orchestrating execution and providing GTM objectives to drive marketing strategies for customer acquisition, acceleration, adoption and advocacy.

Field Enablement

  • Serves as the primary orchestrator between corporate and the field and ensures field and corporate leadership are aligned on business results and actions to take.
  • Strategically activates the partner ecosystem to enable and drive results.
  • Identifies failure points and orchestrates resources to mitigate.

Business Development

  • Cross-references opportunities within the market with the area/subsidiary's capabilities in order to develop strategies that maximize performance across the business.
  • Drives regular engagements with relevant executive stakeholders to develop and operationalize strategies and oversee implementation of cross-market solutions that drive strategic impact and increased market share, in line with area-specific service requirements (e.g., local regulatory compliance/programs).

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years marketing strategy, business planning, sales enablement, business development, technical pre-sales, or related work experience.
  • 5+ years experience working with software startups, Independent Software Vendors or Digital Platform companies.

Additional Or Preferred Qualifications

  • 12+ years marketing strategy, business planning, sales enablement, business development, technical pre-sales,
    • OR related work experience AND Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science,
    • OR related field
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years experience managing and expanding a product/solution portfolio and driving demand generation and pipeline acceleration within a complex (e.g., multinational or matrixed) organization.
Field Product Marketing IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $124,800 - $242,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $159,000 - $264,000 per year.
