Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to support the Infrastructure Planning and Acquisition (IPA) organization. CO+I is responsible for planning, building and operating Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure datacenters across the globe. The organizational scope includes demand and supply planning, business operations and strategic acquisition and prepositioning across land, power, and networking.

As part of this organization, you will be part of a rapidly growing business, enable global impact, and drive strategic execution on our key initiatives. In this role, you will be at the center of the team and will be part of the glue that helps us operate efficiently. You will be responsible for working with partner teams in driving and planning capacity growth initiatives, creating and managing critical deliverables, driving organizational initiatives, and processes to meet strategic objectives and priorities. Responsibilities

Strategic Initiatives:

  • Lead and oversee strategic initiatives related to optimization, expansion, and transformation.
  • Drive results in an ambiguous environment, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and trends to ensure plans align with evolving assumptions.
  • Ability to simplify complex ideas into easy-to-understand concepts for communications.

Collaboration And Stakeholder Management

  • Determine and leads process improvements to quickly scope insights. Ensure alignment between the customer, the market, internal stakeholders, and the goals of and strategy of Microsoft.
  • Foster relationships with partner teams, including Engineering, Operations, and Finance to ensure alignment and support for critical initiatives.
  • Collaborate with others to track, coordinate, and communicate end-to-end project schedule; effectively communicate the progress and impact of initiatives to leadership.
  • Enjoy working under pressure and deadlines, with an ability to manage complexity while driving clarity.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness driving complex multi-stakeholder planning processes, driving cross-team programs to desired results.
  • Demonstrated capability in verbal and written communications skills across a geographically dispersed audience.
  • Ability to work effectively as an individual contributor.

Risk Management

  • Identify potential risks and challenges related to AI planning and strategic initiatives and develop mitigation plans.

Performance Metrics

  • Work with partner teams to define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of network initiatives.

Deeply understand the return on investment and present it to key stakeholders.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development,
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects
Other Requirements

Candidates must meet Microsoft, customer and government security background screening requirements for this role. These requirements currently include, but may change, and are not limited to:

  • Microsoft Cloud Screen Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Screen background check upon hire/transfer and every two years after that while in this role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects
  • Experience collaborating across multiple teams and levels
  • Analytical, financial acumen and communication skills with the ability to influence across non-direct reporting teams
  • Ability to excel in an ambiguous environment
Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
