We’re looking for Software Engineer 2 to build data platforms that protect Microsoft services from cyberattacks. Responsibilities

  • Write well-designed code with an emphasis on quality, maintainability, scalability, and performance.
  • Execute the dev-ops approach to software delivery by designing, coding, testing, deploying, and operating components of the Microsoft 365 security monitoring system.
  • Lead projects with multiple engineers, in collaboration with stakeholders from multiple teams.

Qualifications

Required Qulifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
Other Qualifications

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
    • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with an object-oriented programming language such as C#, Java or Python
  • Effective software design and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with modern software service engineering practices such as Testing in Production, Live Monitoring, Data Driven Engineering
  • Rapid prototyping and iteration skills
  • Experience acting in tech lead roles on projects
  • Experience with Spark or other distributed computing platforms
  • Experience with productionizing ML models
  • A passion for data science and machine learning
  • Cloud and services experience, with Azure cloud experience highly desirable
  • Background in cybersecurity

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,300 - $182,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 - $198,600 per year.
