The Create team in the Experiences+Devices (E+D) Office Product Group (OPG) is looking for a Senior Business Manager. This role is also part of the Office Product Group Business Management community which works together to drive efficiency and leverage the work of the group and has a dotted line relationship to the OPG Chief of Staff.

The Create org is at the center of the Copilot and AI Strategy for M365 and includes products like Designer and Photos as well as growth drivers like SEO and the create.microsoft.com site.

This critical role reports to the Corporate Vice President (CVP) and works closely with the Leadership Team (LT) to drive rythm of business (ROB), business accountability, resource management, communications and organizational health. This candidate should have a broad range of experience, making them able to navigate a high-visibility generalist role to act as a trusted partner and advisor, balancing leadership and influence to help their leader deliver on the business objectives.

This is a hybrid work opportunity, with 50% of the week based in the office (either the Redmond or the Silicon Valley Campus is okay), and 50% of the week remote. As both the CVP and LT are based in the Silicon Valley campus, occasional travel to Silicon Valley would be required.

Responsibilities

Leadership Effectiveness, Business Operations & Communication

  • Stay up to speed on pending launches and develop a firm grasp of the product strategy to help the LT ensure readiness.
  • Own internal communications to effectively drive clarity on the organization’s priorities & decisions.
  • Participate in the most relevant meetings and stay connected with the LT.
  • Maximize the effectiveness of the CVP by partnering with their Executive Assistant to prioritize their time.
  • Work with the CVP to drive prep for executive reviews, internal and external engagements.
  • Own cross-team projects as needed to meet the changing business environment and manage complex business needs.
  • Act as a project/program manager to ensure organization-wide implementation of strategic efforts that require hands-on coordination across multiple functional disciplines and business organizations.



Business Management & Operations

  • Leverages knowledge of organizational strategy and planned deliverables for the upcoming year(s) to design budgets.
  • Collaborates with the LT regarding resource management planning, and ensures that the leaders are aligned on the headcount strategy.
  • Partners with the staffing team to meet hiring requirements and elevate staffing conversations with the LT.
  • Works as part of the OPG Business Management community to improve processes, procedures, and initiatives to run the business efficiently as the organization scales.
  • Partner with the CVP’s Executive Admin (EA) to drive execution on budget and headcount tracking.



Team Development & Culture

  • In partnership with HR and the LT, shape and drive the people agenda and lead team health initiatives, particularly focused on developing increased diversity, inclusion, and belonging. This is a shared accountability across all members of the LT.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance or related field AND 6+ years work experience in program or operational management in the tech space
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Proficient with financial modeling, analysis, and insights development.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in Chief of Staff office or senior Business Management.
  • Ability to create effective relationships, influence and collaborate internally and externally at all organizational levels.
  • Focuses on continuous improvement.

Business Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,200 - $194,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $142,200 - $213,200 per year.
