Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As a CO+I Mechanical Engineer, you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform.

Our mechanical engineer plays a vital role in our data centre infrastructure by designing, maintaining, and optimizing the mechanical systems - especially HVAC systems. They also troubleshoot any issues that arise and ensure the efficient and effective operation of the site mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team. Your role involves supporting HVAC systems within our data centers. If you’re ready to take on exciting challenges and work with cutting-edge technology, we invite you to be part of our team. Key responsibilities below:

Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support for HVAC Systems:
    • Collaborate with data center technicians to provide technical guidance and troubleshooting assistance for HVAC systems.
    • Assist in diagnosing and resolving HVAC system issues promptly.
    • Ensure compliance with safety protocols during maintenance and repairs.
  • Efficiency Optimization:
    • Analyze existing HVAC systems and equipment to identify inefficiencies or malfunctions.
    • Propose solutions to optimize performance and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Multi-System Knowledge:
    • While your primary focus will be HVAC, you should have a working knowledge of related systems such as fire protection and fueling systems.
    • Familiarity with electrical, mechanical, and diagnostic systems is advantageous.
  • Client Interaction:
    • Communicate directly with clients to understand operational requirements and system performance.
    • Evaluate cost-effective solutions for HVAC equipment maintenance and upgrades.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of technical support activities, repairs, and system performance.
    • Prepare reports for management and stakeholders.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent trade-qualified experience in Data Centers or related industries.
  • Proven experience in providing technical support for HVAC systems.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
