The Microsoft Security organization’s mission of making the world a safer place has never been more important. As threats become more frequent and sophisticated, we drive improvements into our security products that keep our customers, apps and their devices safe. The Microsoft Security Customer Experience Engineering (CxE) team, part of Microsoft Security division anticipates, amplifies, and systemically solves customer needs, to make the world a safer place for all. It does this by ensuring our product teams, such as Microsoft Entra, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Defender, and Microsoft Purview are always on the front lines with customers, taking accountability for the end-to-end Microsoft Security customer experience, and that customers have what they need to be successful leveraging our Security suite of products.



The CxE Security Care team has a dedicated Operations & Enablement team with a charter to drive operational excellence to scale our business and ensure a positive, predictable customer experience. We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Product Manager to drive a program that works with support and multiple product engineering teams to deliver a consistent and reliable support experience for our customers.

Responsibilities

Role Overview: In this role, you will contribute to the Release Management lifecycle for Security, Compliance, Identity and Management suite of products. Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Operational Rhythm and Planning:
  • Drive the operational rhythm and plan for engagements with CxE, Product and Customer Support groups.
  • Promote the adoption of best practices with Product Engineering on various customer facing workstreams. Track and manage projects and related Azure DevOps work items across various partner groups to ensure seamless collaboration.
  • Data, Tooling and Operations Framework Alignment:
  • Identify tooling needs and collaborate with the data teams to bridge tooling gaps.
  • Conduct data analysis to extract meaningful insights related to operational processes for Product Release Management and Customer Communications.
  • Change Management Leadership:
  • Define the change management process and checklist to prepare Customer Support teams for major changes that impact Microsoft Security customers.
  • Oversee major changes, including delivery of new features, service changes, and deprecations, ensuring customer support readiness.
  • Customer Communications Governance:
  • Drive accountability with product teams to craft and deliver timely and actionable customer facing communications.
  • Guarantee support readiness through effective coordination and communication across teams.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 5+ years’ experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

OR equivalent experience.

Additional Or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 7+ years’ experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Skills

  • Customer empathy: A deep understanding of the needs of Microsoft customers.
  • Detail- and results-oriented: Proven experience managing complex, multi-year technology and business projects.
  • Think big: Design operational solutions that scale across all product lines within the Security business.
  • Collaborative skills: Experienced in narrative writing, articulating (verbally/written) solutions to peers, stakeholders and leadership, and influencing without authority.
  • Dealing with Ambiguity: Ability to parse the context and design an execution plan to drive incremental progress.

Preferred Knowledge And Experiences

  • Familiarity with Azure or other cloud platforms.
  • Experience in the engineering and product lifecycle of highly distributed, high-scale systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive adoption of operational best practices with product, engineering, and customer facing business teams.
  • Extensive experience in data analysis, translating insights to execution phase, adept stakeholder management, and a proven track record of driving best practices in program management.
  • Product management experience: From understanding customer requirements to defining roadmaps, driving engineering efforts, fostering adoption, and ongoing product improvements to meet customer needs and deliver business outcomes.

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
