The Windows and Web Experiences Team (WWE) builds comprehensive and engaging content, services, and platforms for consumers to access the information they need anywhere on any device and for enterprises to enhance their employee and customer experiences. We are looking for a Software Engineer II with strong development experience and a demonstrated track record of technical excellence and innovative thinking.

Responsibilities

  • Works with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project manager, technical lead) to determine user requirements for a set of features.
  • Contributes to product architecture, refines code plans, creates quality assurance strategies, defines test success criteria, and develops design documents with minimal supervision.
  • Develops and implements code, supports debugging efforts, and reviews code to ensure Microsoft's quality standards are met for product features.
  • Analyzes and enhances product features through collaborative review, conducts experiments for effective changes, and supports secure feature deployment while considering user impact and best practices.
  • Identifies solutions for system problems, contributes to telemetry data integration, and analyzes system metrics independently.
  • Actively enhances software developer tools, focusing on bridging engineering gaps, contributing to automation, ensuring security, and staying updated on industry developments for consistent, reliable, and efficient product performance.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java.
  • Working level oral and written English skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java.
  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java.
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • Industry experience with windows/desktop application development.
  • C++ skill is a strong Plus.
  • Efficient communication and collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with software debugging.
