Within CSCP, Microsoft Cloud Planning (MCP) serves as the central planning organization responsible for forecasting, demand planning, and supply planning across Microsoft's cloud infrastructure and hardware ecosystem. MCP's work directly influences capacity readiness, customer experience, and the continued growth of Microsoft's cloud business.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and strategic partner for engineering teams on capacity planning, deployment readiness, and infrastructure planning initiatives.
  • Translate customer demand forecasts into optimized capacity and deployment plans across the infrastructure supply chain.
  • Develop and implement end-to-end risk detection methodologies, metrics, and KPIs spanning demand forecasts through live capacity deployment.
  • Design and implement risk mitigation processes across multiple stages of planning, deployment, and operational execution.
  • Analyze planning systems and data pipelines to improve alignment between Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE) processes.
  • Lead automation initiatives that improve risk detection, proactive monitoring, and mitigation capabilities.
  • Establish and lead weekly and monthly business reviews, performance metrics, and operational reporting for short-term planning activities.
  • Drive continuous process, systems, and tooling improvements to enhance planning efficiency, scalability, and decision-making.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.


Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with demand forecasting or supply chain planning in cloud infrastructure and/or high-tech hardware supply chains.
  • Experience leading cross-functional programs with stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Finance, Operations, and Supply Planning.
  • Experience developing long-term program strategies while effectively managing day-to-day execution and operational priorities.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience driving outcomes in ambiguous environments while adapting to changing business needs.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment across cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 productivity tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Experience using enterprise planning systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, E2open) and business intelligence/analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Power BI, Tableau).
  • Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (e.g., MBA, MS).

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $160,200 - $261,000 per year.
