As a Senior Frontier Industry Advisor – Banking on the Americas Frontier Banking Industry team, you will help Microsoft’s most strategic banking customers define and execute AI-led transformation agendas. This role is responsible for originating industry-led business opportunities and executive conversations that connect business outcomes to Microsoft cloud, data, AI, security, and partner capabilities. You will be the banking industry subject matter expert engaging with senior business decision makers to identify, generate, and nurture transformational opportunities. You will go deep with select customers to help them move beyond isolated pilots toward governed, scalable AI adoption that delivers enterprise outcomes such as profitable growth, improved operating leverage, faster and more trusted credit decisioning, stronger fraud and financial crime controls, better customer and banker experiences, operational resilience, and regulatory confidence. You will also develop Microsoft’s frontier banking practice through thought leadership, targeted customer engagements, and strategic planning with Microsoft’s account teams and industry leadership.

Responsibilities
- Serve as the banking industry subject matter expert for digital and AI transformation, account planning, and partner business planning. Engage business leaders, global systems integrators, ISVs, solution partners, and Microsoft account teams. Align Microsoft capabilities to customers' strategic banking priorities.
- Bring a multi-year industry perspective on digital and AI transformation. Provide thought leadership on global banking trends and ecosystem opportunities, influence key business stakeholders, and help accelerate adoption of Microsoft technologies through long-term strategic planning and execution.
- Lead multi-horizon planning and create industry-focused roadmaps aligned to customer business and technology priorities.
- Build and maintain relationships with senior and executive-level customer and partner stakeholders.
- Act as a trusted industry advisor by applying deep knowledge of banking strategies, market dynamics, technology trends, and Microsoft's industry point of view.
Sales Execution
- Identify customer needs, industry readiness, and business-value opportunities across the banking value chain, including retail, commercial, and corporate banking, payments, lending, deposits, treasury services, customer engagement, risk, compliance, fraud, data and analytics, core banking modernization, and digital channels.
- Lead industry-focused conversations that position Frontier AI as a driver of banking transformation, connecting Microsoft technology to measurable business outcomes such as growth, productivity, customer experience, risk reduction, fraud prevention, regulatory confidence, and resilience.
- Apply an outcomes-first approach that starts with business objectives and aligns process, architecture, data, AI, security, governance, and change-management requirements to achieve enterprise-scale transformation.
- Collaborate with account teams, solution teams, partners, and internal stakeholders to build and mature banking pipeline opportunities. Conduct customer and market research to identify high-value opportunities for AI, cloud, and agentic workflow technologies.
- Represent the banking industry perspective in customer engagements and help shape a shared vision for transformation across customer acquisition, lending, risk and compliance, operations, payments, data and analytics, digital banking, contact centers, and core banking platforms.
- Identify, advance, and scale high-impact Frontier AI opportunities, including AI-assisted relationship management, banker and contact center copilots, intelligent document processing, lending automation, fraud investigation, compliance automation, enterprise knowledge assistants, payments modernization, and core banking transformation.
- Help customers move from AI pilots to enterprise-scale transformation by modernizing operating models, workflows, and data foundations while embedding responsible AI, security, and governance. Develop business value cases and serve as a trusted advisor to expand strategic opportunities across lines of business and regions.
Collaboration and Partner Management
- Collaborate with account teams, business strategy leaders, solution architects, technical specialists, consulting teams, and partner organizations to plan, orchestrate, and execute customer opportunities.
- Leverage the Microsoft partner ecosystem to solve complex banking challenges and demonstrate how cloud, data, AI, Frontier AI, security, productivity, business applications, and partner solutions work together to drive business outcomes.
- Coordinate with commercial, legal, compliance, engineering, and customer success teams to establish strategic partnerships and advance customer transformation initiatives.
Industry Expertise
- Maintain deep knowledge of Microsoft and industry-relevant solutions, banking trends, regulatory and policy developments, and competitive landscapes to serve as a trusted industry expert.
- Provide insights across sales, marketing, engineering, and industry teams on emerging trends, customer needs, and sales blockers to help shape future solutions and strategies.
- Advise and present to industry and customer communities, mentor less experienced colleagues, and actively pursue ongoing learning to deepen industry and customer expertise.
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business or related field AND 5+ years customer-facing experience in, financial services, management consulting, consultative selling, technology or industry-relevant equivalent management or technical work experience
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business AND 7+ years customer-facing experience in, financial services, management consulting, consultative selling, technology or industry-relevant equivalent management or technical work experience
- OR equivalent experience.
Additional or preferred qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in consultative sales, advisory, strategy, business development, transformation, or technology leadership capacity, either directly within the Banking industry or with enterprise technology, fintech, payments, data and analytics, core banking, management consulting, systems integrator, or advisory firms serving Banking clients.
- Experience may include work with retail banks, commercial banks, corporate banks, investment banking groups within banks, payments organizations, lending businesses, deposits, treasury services, cash management, risk, compliance, fraud, financial crime, regulatory reporting, customer experience, branch and contact center operations, digital banking, core banking modernization, or banking operations, with a focus on driving digital transformation through cloud, data, AI, Frontier AI, automation, security, and modern platform capabilities.
Industry Advisory IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,000 - $222,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $170,300 - $239,800 per year.
