Microsoft Security (MSEC) is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) to help lead and scale the Getting Customers Ready for AI strategic initiative. This role sits at the intersection of AI transformation, security, and customer readiness, and plays a key part in helping organizations confidently and securely adopt AI at enterprise scale.
As AI-powered experiences and agentic systems rapidly reshape how work gets done, customers need clear guidance, trusted solutions, and measurable outcomes to prepare their environments. In this role, you will drive cross-company execution to define, operationalize, and scale AI readiness across critical domains—including identity, devices, data, applications, infrastructure, governance, and overall security posture.
You will partner deeply across Product Management, Engineering, Design, Research, Customer Experience, Sales, Marketing, and Support to align strategy with execution, ensuring we deliver end-to-end experiences that meet evolving customer needs. This is a highly collaborative role with significant visibility, requiring strong influence across Microsoft Security and Microsoft 365, including engagement with senior leaders and stakeholders.
The ideal candidate brings a balance of technical depth, program leadership, and customer empathy, along with strong systems thinking and operational rigor. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity, driving clarity in fast-moving environments, and scaling impact through cross-functional alignment.

Responsibilities
Strategic Program Leadership
Drive execution of key workstreams for the Getting Customers Ready for AI initiative across Microsoft Security.
Help define and operationalize customer readiness frameworks, success metrics, and scalable processes that improve AI adoption readiness.
Partner with product leaders to translate strategic priorities into execution plans, milestones, operational cadences, and measurable outcomes.
Coordinate cross-functional deliverables across engineering, product management, design, research, customer success, marketing, and field organizations.
Identify dependencies, risks, gaps, and opportunities across multiple teams and proactively drive resolution.
Technical Program Management
Lead end-to-end program execution across complex technical initiatives involving security, AI systems, identity, devices, governance, and cloud services.
Partner with engineering teams to drive architecture alignment, technical reviews, release readiness, quality tracking, and operational excellence.
Establish scalable mechanisms for program planning, feature tracking, dependency management, issue escalation, and executive reporting.
Drive alignment across multiple product teams to ensure cohesive customer experiences and integrated platform capabilities.
Help define telemetry, instrumentation, reporting, and operational insights needed to measure customer adoption and readiness outcomes.
Customer & Ecosystem Focus
Partner with customer-facing teams and co-creation programs to understand customer challenges, blockers, adoption patterns, and implementation needs.
Synthesize customer feedback into actionable recommendations for engineering and product teams, and work with product engineering to define and deliver product solutions to customers.
Support customer readiness engagements, onboarding strategies, pilot programs, and scalable adoption motions.
Drive clarity around customer scenarios, deployment guidance, operational best practices, and measurable value.
Operational Excellence
Build scalable operating rhythms, communication frameworks, and review processes for the initiative.
Create executive-ready communications, status updates, roadmap summaries, and decision frameworks.
Drive program health reviews, KPI tracking, risk management, and organizational alignment.
Improve cross-team execution efficiency through process simplification, tooling, and program governance.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
Preferred Qualifications
8+ years of experience in technical program management, engineering, product development, or platform strategy, with a Bachelor’s degree in a technical or related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional technical programs across multiple engineering and product teams, including managing dependencies and driving execution in high-matrixed, ambiguous environments.
Stakeholder management and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership and drive alignment across highly matrixed organizations.
Experience delivering customer-facing enterprise, cloud, security, or large-scale distributed systems, with an understanding of platform-level architecture and operations.
Ability to translate technical and operational signals into clear executive insights, including defining frameworks, governance models, and scalable processes.
Hands-on experience leveraging AI/NPF in core workflows, including synthesizing data at scale, generating structured artifacts, and improving execution through reusable AI-assisted approaches (e.g., prompts, templates, playbooks).
Demonstrated leadership in AI adoption and/or security domains, including scaling best practices, coaching others, and driving initiatives across organizational boundaries.
Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $160,200 - $261,000 per year.
