Microsoft’s Cloud business is expanding, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the hardware infrastructure underlying this growth including AI! The CSCP organization is responsible for traditional supply chain functions such as plan, source, make, deliver, but also manages supportability (spares), sustainability, and decommissioning of datacenter assets worldwide. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform for external customers. The Cloud Sourcing, Security and Sustainability (CS3) organization within CSCP manages sourcing, strategy, and suppliers to provide cost, flexibility, and supply advantages that enable our org to become a world-class supply chain. Well-defined and executed sourcing and supply chain management ensures reliable, on-time performance and optimized cost, prevents urgent and unplanned investments, and provides accurate and timely information across the supply base and internally across the infrastructure organization. Responsibilities

As a Sourcing director, you will lead a team in ensuring we have continuity of supply to launch our new, industry leading server hardware. This includes putting in place the right process / tools with our suppliers / internal stakeholders, and working directly with suppliers to resolve supply challenges. This opportunity will allow you to deepen your supplier management experience and provide platform for growth into future supply chain leadership roles.

Managing sourcing strategy with your team and engage directly with internal stakeholders and suppliers to resolve any supply issues

• Working closely with suppliers, you will remove obstacles and provide resources to create a favorable supply chain, review staffing, and influence supplier selection.

• You will serve as an expert in tools and processes for managing supply and driving improvements, summarizing complex systems for senior leaders and overseeing standardization. You’ll also determine potential data sources for analyzing supply, review dashboards for presenting analysis, and design and streamline data management processes.

• You’ll also serve as a key point of contact between teams for senior leaders while communicating status, driving clarity, and anticipating future challenges. / internal stakeholders, and working directly with suppliers to resolve supply challenges.



Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 6+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles OR Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 8+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles OR equivalent experience.
  • Cross-functional leadership including product design, quality and business teams to consult on and influence sourcing decisions and requirements with minimal guidance.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:
    • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Sourcing or Supply chain work experience in tech hardware company (e.g., server OEM, ODM and other cloud service providers)
