We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with a passion for providing reliable, scalable and secure distributed cloud services. You will have an opportunity to work on the latest technologies in security and distributed systems and apply innovative algorithms for solving problems at scale and high performance.

This Hybrid position is located at our Microsoft office in Redmond, Washington. Relocation support will be provided, and successful candidates will need to relocate or reside within 50 miles of the field location.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end design, development, and operation of distributed services and/or clients processing millions of requests per second at 99.999% availability
- Partner across engineering, product, and design to build customer-facing experiences that simplify complex workflows, reduce friction, and create moments of delight for users
- Investigate and resolve production incidents; participate in on-call rotation for mission-critical services
- Drive performance analysis and optimization to meet low single-digit millisecond latency targets and minimize added latency
- Champion engineering quality through automated testing, ensuring services are clean, well-factored, and well-tested
- Strengthen observability by improving telemetry, tracing, and diagnostics for rapid incident detection and resolution
- Mentor engineers on the team through code reviews, design guidance, and engineering best practices
- Evangelize the usage of AI to increase productivity and quality on the team

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $160,200 - $261,000 per year.
