We are a compliance first organization with customer obsession and deal economics focus.
The Treasury Operations team is looking for a Credit Risk Director - Treasury. This includes leading a team of strong professionals that are responsible for managing credit risk and supporting revenue growth while protecting the company from financial and business risks. The credit risk function has gone through a broad-based transformation, and we are looking for a strong leader to continue to drive deal velocity in the face of challenging macro-economic environments.

Prioritization
- Oversees team to drive the process and methodology for the credit risk management lifecycle (e.g., customer mastering, credit evaluation) for customers and partners. Ensures credit risk is aligned with greater strategic needs in the company.
- Ensures team gathers and reviews appropriate internal and external information and/or reports to drive business insights and recommendations for peers and stakeholders to support risk-based revenue decisions.
- Sets best practices for developing risk profile scoring leveraged in credit decisioning, including assessment of machine learning parameters and monitoring.
- Oversees strategies that proactively mitigate, or reactively address, potential adverse effects of macroeconomic and/or geopolitical risks.
Partnership
- Build relationships with multiple internal stakeholders across the deal lifecycle e.g., Deals Execution and Field Support, Customer Advocacy, Forecasting, Financial Reporting teams, and partner with them on what support is needed to achieve portfolio management objectives.
- Applies advanced understanding of Microsoft business, industry, and drivers of shareholder return to ensure senior leaders are presented with the most relevant data, insights, risks, and recommendations necessary to support strategy execution. Leverages business expertise to attract and inspire talent and help others reach their full potential.
- Conceptualizes and designs new approaches to how financial data is collected and evaluated to impact the broader organization and Microsoft's long-term goals.
- Understands the interconnections between data, information, and results and translates this into forward-looking narratives and forecasts. Provides clarity and alignment with senior leaders. Implements creative ways to show patterns and draw conclusions to help drive decisions and clearly communicate findings. Generates actionable plans based on complex results, ambiguous findings, and multi-year time horizons. Coaches team to translate data into a simplified and engaging message with actionable insights. Facilitates a shared understanding and awareness of business partner situations.
Protect
- Drives the right tone from executive leadership and ensures strict adherence and understanding of Microsoft policies on risk and compliance. Influences leadership to ensure compliance is a top priority and modeled throughout the organization. Directs team and holds others accountable to ensure financial control processes, policies, instruments, and procedures are executed. Guides team and encourages others to identify and share risks to compliance and take steps to mitigate. Drives a compliant culture through actions and decisions to instill trust. Advocates, educates, and promotes best practices and new developments. Champions Microsoft privacy, security, and ethical standards. Advances key compliance initiatives.
Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications:
Additional or preferred qualifications
- Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 8+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience OR Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 12+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience OR equivalent experience.
- 3+ years’ experience managing direct reports with a proven ability to coach and develop talent..
- 5+ years’ experience in finance roles in multinationals.
- 3+ years’ work experience in the technology industry.
- 8+ years of progressive finance experience with demonstrated ownership of Accounts Receivable and Collections
- Proven analytical, problem-solving, and executive storytelling skills; ability to simplify complex topics into clear actions
- Demonstrated change management capability; track record of driving process improvements and automation

- Flexible working with 3 days per week working in the office and 2 days per week working from home.
Financial Analysis M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $277,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $303,600 per year.
