ROLE OVERVIEW

This role is an exciting opportunity for someone to join Initiative’s Design team to lead campaign planning across two innovative and forward-thinking clients within our portfolio – Deliveroo and Clarins.

As an Associate Director in Design, you are responsible for crafting best in class communications plans to solve client challenges and drive brand growth. As part of the Design team, you will be an expert in consumer and communications behaviour and will build on this knowledge to lead the creation of a full ecosystem approach to deliver a strategy. Working closely with business leadership, strategy, investment and creative partners you will translate the client’s cultural opportunity into the idea that shapes the experience someone will have with your client’s brands across paid, owned and earned encounters.

Alongside a passion for crafting brand experiences through culturally rich ideas, you will have strong relationship skills to connect and collaborate across internal teams, clients and their agency partners to deliver seamless account management and be a true partner to your client.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Client

  • Responsible for the development of the detailed communications plan to power the idea. Able to deploy tools and techniques to deliver best in class communications planning outcomes across OESP.
  • Present the Design approach to relevant stakeholders
  • Responsible for best-in-class account management to ensure seamless execution from brief to reporting, driving successful outcomes
  • Manage the outputs of day-to-day requirements and workflow of the client
  • Responsible for presentation of client education program around Design including relevant changes in the media landscape and the opportunities arising as a result

Internal

  • Responsible for the management and training of more junior members of the design team in communications planning fundamentals
  • Responsible for the best practice application of planning approach including key tools and techniques to surface media and marketing intelligence and insights to produce an impactful, culturally rich communications plan across owned, earned, shared, paid (OESP)
  • Write and manage outputs from RFP submissions from the Design discipline, in collaboration with Investment leads

Commercial

  • Contributor to client Key Performance Indicator (KPI) delivery
  • Contributor to Specialty Business Units (SBU) growth and client profitability

New Business

  • Contributor to new business as required

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Experience with leading communications planning for UK clients
  • Ability to work successfully within a team, handling multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines under pressure – adapting quickly where required
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, colleagues and vendors
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills
  • Ability to delegate and oversee direct reports
  • Proven problem-solving ability
