Role Description

An opportunity for an enthusiastic Commercial Finance Manager within the Commercial Finance team at Mediabrands UK, to support the Commercial Business Partner and Finance Director in managing the agencies financial planning, analysis, and reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Budgeting and forecasting

  • Key point of support for the Commercial Business Partner and Finance Director as a Commercial Finance Manager to provide an overall view of forecasted performance.
  • Support the Commercial Finance team to deliver and support the finance strategy by driving a consistent approach to planning cycles across agencies, including consolidation and analysis of business units plans and developing P&Ls.
  • Support in the preparation of PowerPoint presentations to explain forecasts and budgets to the Mediabrands Executive Leadership Team.
  • Review budgets regularly, identify potential cost savings and optimise resource allocation.
  • Maintaining up-to-date forecast files for the P&L, including monthly revenue by client as well as monthly costs by line item and flash updates.
  • Conduct monthly revenue review meetings with the relevant client leads to obtain projections and refine forecasts.

Reporting and analysis

  • Interpret financial information and analysis, supporting effective management decisions using benchmarking, trends, and other sources of information; develop and implement improvements to the planning processes.
  • Lead the revenue pipeline process, working closely with the stakeholders to assess and challenge new opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with other finance teams to deliver effective financial management, controls and advisory support across the agencies.
  • Support the agency leads with contracts scope of work review, timesheet analysis, employee utilization reports, fee proposals and operational guidance.
  • Prepare monthly client profitability analysis to share with the stakeholders to ensure accounts are profitable, highlighting areas of concern where the client teams are under/over servicing the clients.

Ad Hoc Support

  • Drive continuous improvement across the finance and agency teams.
  • Maintain contract inventory.
  • Support intercompany reconciliation.
  • Attend monthly performance review meeting.
  • Audit support.
  • Provide guidance and support to 1 direct report; Commercial Analyst.

Skills/Experience

  • Commercial experience required
  • Experience of people management
  • Media industry experience desirable
  • Strong excel skills
  • Attention to detail.
  • Team player with a ‘can-do’ attitude who can collaborate effectively and efficiently but who can also work (when required) independently.
  • Ability/desire to work closely with the agency/people outside of the finance function.
