The Opportunity
The Planning Manager uses their knowledge of the digital media space to work across developing new and emerging digital media solutions for the APAC Regional team that includes, but is not limited to, programmatic media, social advertising, search, video, and mobile advertising.
The position is an important one within the regional team to drive digital innovation and yet be hands-on across digital planning and operations. The position will also be responsible for managing a team of executives, with the aim to nurture and train team members.
Your responsibilities:
The Planning Manager reports to the Regional Business Director and is responsible for leading and driving the strategy, development, execution, and stewardship of all digital communications plans, as well as other emerging media initiatives based on client requirements and needs, working within an integrated team across disciplines.
- Lead comms/connections strategy and ensure strategic thinking in media planning
- Lead innovation and thought leadership
- Drive UM's proposition and planning framework through into the clients’ business/ new business pitches as well as help upskill teams in applying the planning process and our tools/frameworks
- Partner business lead to deliver on unique and innovative strategies and ideas, working with teams to ensure that they are activated in media and connections in accordance with plan, and with demonstrable outcomes
- Day-to-day digital planning support for local markets and digital input for regional projects and initiatives
- Strong contributor to client digital strategy with the aim to drive digital excellence and performance
- Ensure that strategies are underpinned by audiences
- Use analytics, data & insights to fuel strategies and planning approaches
- Digital partner evaluation & engagement. Develop and nurture relationships with strategic partners
- Investigate new & emerging media opportunities while keeping business objectives in mind
- Sound knowledge of paid social & search in order to guide teams and client teams towards achieving KPIs across both social and search campaigns
- Train internal teams on best practices, new media & trends
Ideally you have
- 4-6 years of digital media experience either in a media agency or in-house marketing function
- Experience in managing paid media campaigns from building plans, setting digital KPIs, and suggesting strategies that drive overall digital performance
- Experience in managing & mentoring teams
- Ability to articulate and educate clients and team members on digital strategy, trends, and challenges
- Demonstrate strong proficiency with digital platforms, especially across social and paid search. Should have an affinity towards social and search platforms to be able to manage campaigns with internal teams
- Excellent quantitative skills, including analytical abilities and math proficiency
- Effective problem-solving skills & team collaboration
