The Role
The Senior Data Scientist role is a core technical role within the Data Science division of Kinesso. The purpose of the role is to provide audience insight for clients leveraging IPG owned proprietary data assets. This role is responsible in transforming, optimising and providing efficiencies within our data platforms to facilitate online & offline marketing effectiveness, enabling clients to optimise their marketing budgets and measuring their business performance by way of data analysis and predictive modelling.
The opportunity also exists to learn and work alongside our leading data specialists, building advanced data science capabilities including segmentation, predictive, local area marketing, programmatic and data visualisations.
Based Hybrid 2/3 days a week from our Sydney office, this role gives you the chance to learn and work alongside our leading global data specialists, building advanced data science capabilities including segmentation, local area marketing, programmatic and data visualisations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead / execute analytical approaches, including developing / training / optimising machine learning models, other forms of analytical modelling
- Lead in house analytics projects and upskill people within the Data Science team where appropriate.
- Collaborate with internal customers to identify their business problem and work with them to provide meaningful, actionable insights
- Ability to acquire, cleanse, transform and verify data from first, second, and third-party data sources.
- Interpret data, analyse results, and identify trends using statistical techniques and provide ongoing insights/measurement reports.
- Manage end to end client delivery which involves internal stakeholders, data collection & preparation, quality control and delivering accurate/timely models & insights.
- Manage the execution and keep track of all scheduled project tasks. Investigate any issues and escalate to Head of Data Science if deadlines are at risk of delay.
- Work closely with Data & Tech teams to collaborate on data infrastructure and process.
- Liaise with key internal SBUs / agencies to verify data integrity, model accuracy and seek input for client presentations.
About you
- 3+ years proven experience as a data scientist in a commercial environment.
- Experience using statistical programming languages, libraries, or packages for analysing large datasets: R, Python, SPSS.
- Proactive, self-learning and confident.
- Experience with data modelling techniques such as multiple linear regression, classification, segmentation etc.
- Experience with ML and AI.
- Experience with large data sets, specifically web traffic (clickstream) and third-party demographic data.
- Experience with data interrogation, manipulation and extraction using SQL/R/Python applied to large databases.
- Experience with Media Analytics desirable.
- Experience visualising, presenting data and building dashboards using Tableau is desirable.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
