Role Description

The role will deal with Balance Sheet and Statutory financial management of Mediabrands Limited, Mediabrands International Limited, Mediabrands EMEA Limited and Kinesso Limited, reporting into the Senior Finance Manager. The job will require you to work closely on Balance Sheet management across all our agencies within the company structure. A key aspect of this role is to require you to act as a key liaison between the internal/ external auditors and IPG’s internal finance team.

The Operations / Controls Finance team consists of 30 permanent staff headed up by the EMEA CFO. The department adds value to the agencies within Mediabrands by providing operational support and best practice.

This is a 6 month temporary contract.

IPG Mediabrands are looking for a Statutory Accountant to join the finance team in London on a 6-month contract.

The role will be part of the Balance sheet/Compliance team, reporting into the Senior Finance Manager. The job will require you to act as a key liaison between the internal/ external auditors and IPG’s internal finance team.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation of financial statements under UK GAAP, including the preparation of GAAP adjustment entries and other statutory entries.
• Preparation of reconciliations between statutory and management accounts to be presented to the board.
• Being a strong communicator, acting as main point of contact for internal/external auditors and handle delegation of audit requests, where required.
• Liaising with internal corporation tax team in the preparation of supporting tax schedules
• Deal with ad-hoc requests from the business relating to the statutory reporting
• Work collaboratively with other teams and departments to explain financial requirements and develop knowledge sharing.
• Ad hoc tasks as directed by the Senior management.

Desired Skills & Experience

• Professional certifications such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA are highly desirable.
• Experience in audit practice with at least 3 years post qualification experience.
• Experience with US GAAP would be beneficial.
• Proficiency in financial systems highly desirable (e.g. SAP, Asana, Oracle Hyperion Financial Management, NetSuite and Helios) and advanced Excel skills.
• Be detail-orientated, organised and focused on quality.
• Ability to effectively manage own workload, and work within given timescales (both internal and external) to meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Adaptability and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong team player.
• Ability to work well under pressure, working accurately with attention to detail, and meeting deadlines
