Greenhouse is looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our team!

In this role you'll help keep our products performant and secure by building scalable and fault-tolerant cloud infrastructure using technologies like Terraform, AWS, and Kubernetes. In the coming year, you'll help us build out Kubernetes-based services for our Internal Developer Platform, support for global scalability and disaster recovery, and architect solutions for the next generation of database solutions at Greenhouse. Our Platform team is a critical part of our organization, responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Greenhouse’s cloud infrastructure which enables us to deliver the best recruiting software possible.

What you’ll do

  • Collaborate with product engineers to design new applications and make them performant, scalable, and reliable
  • Learn and deploy cutting-edge tools and technologies: Docker/Containerd, Kubernetes, Container Linux, Terraform, Prometheus, Loki, Grafana, and Go
  • Build new robust self-service database solutions for our gitops-based internal developer platform
  • Optimize and maintain critical cloud infrastructure, databases, and storage systems to ensure high availability, reliability, and cost efficiency
  • Scale the Greenhouse platform to deliver a consistently great user experience worldwide


You should have

  • A deep understanding of Linux systems
  • Experience running production cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Proficiency in a high-level programming language (Ruby, Go, Bash, Python, JS)
  • Experience with the Kubernetes ecosystem
  • A knack for troubleshooting and fixing hard bugs
  • Ability to design and build large distributed systems

The national pay range for this role is $142,500 - $158,650 annually. Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and local cost of labor. Certain roles may be eligible for additional compensation, including stock option awards, bonuses, and merit increases. Additionally, certain roles have the opportunity to receive sales commissions that are based on the terms of the sales commission plan applicable to the role.
