About the role:
The Family Mentor provides support and skill-building to carer families and patient support people as part of a multidisciplinary team, and balances the needs of the organization, Provider team, and patients/families in their work. The Family Mentor is motivated by the ultimate goal of providing the highest quality evidence-based treatments for eating disorders so that everyone can achieve lasting recovery.
Must be based in PST region

Responsibilities:

  • Meeting carers and support people where they are on the recovery journey
  • Validating carer experiences
  • Supporting Provider Team guidance with lived experience and strategy
  • Fostering retention of carers in treatment
  • Creating an Equip community for carers
  • Being aligned with the provider team members so carers clearly understand their team is “on the same page”
  • Skills training and support for carers
  • Clinical notes completion post-session
  • Messaging to support carers and communicate with the provider team
  • Engagement in Treatment Team huddles, supervision, and departmental meetings
  • Hosting/co-hosting Family Mentor-led group sessions for carers
  • Moderating carer message boards

Requirements:

  • Have lived experience as a caregiver for a loved one with an eating disorder
  • Strong skills in communication and collaboration with diverse, multidisciplinary teams
  • Organized and results-drivenAbility to understand and balance business needs and clinical priorities
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment subject to rapid change and innovation​​
  • Comfort with web-based platforms and use of Google applications

Time Commitment:

  • 65% of time will be spent in direct clinical support, including 1:1 sessions with families and leading groups
  • 35% of time is dedicated to administrative activities, Treatment Team, group supervision, Provider-level meetings, 1:1 supervision, and other trainings
  • Full Time; Monday - Friday
  • Must live in PST or MST
