For senior hires, you will design the DevOps strategy, shape environment architecture, advise on tools and frameworks, and coach the development team. The role may also involve working with complementary technologies (e.g. AWS, Azure, MuleSoft).
What You Will Do
DevOps Execution Responsibilities
- Orchestrate deployments across environments in partnership with functional leads, developers and QA teams.
- Review and support merge requests; coach developers on deployment best practices, SFDX usage, and metadata handling.
- Execute and manage back-merges to maintain alignment across branches/environments.
- Troubleshoot build/deployment failures, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventive fixes.
- Ensure adherence to governance, secure credential handling, and configuration management standards.
- Monitor pipeline runs, deployment logs, and quality gates, proactively addressing issues.
Test Automation Responsibilities
- Build and maintain automated test frameworks for Salesforce UI, API, and component‑level testing (e.g. Selenium, Playwright, JMeter).
- Implement static analysis, code coverage validation, and security scanning (e.g. PMD, SonarQube, SFDX scanners).
- Work with developers and BAs to translate user flows into automated test scenarios.
- Write automated test scripts to replace/reduce manual testing and support regression cycles.
- Troubleshoot test failures, analyse root causes, and collaborate with developers to resolve issues.
Must Have Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Practical experience using Git, including branching, merging, and pull request workflows.
- Basic understanding of programming fundamentals and test automation concepts.
- Experience using CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, Jenkins).
- Practical experience with automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, JMeter, or equivalent.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
Good to Have
- Experience with Salesforce DevOps Center, Copado, Gearset, or Flosum.
- Exposure to AWS or Azure cloud platforms.

- Programming experience in Python, Java, C#, or JavaScript.
- Experience in public sector projects or regulated environments.
Ways of Working

- Communicate progress, risks, and blockers proactively to leads and stakeholders.
- Follow agreed DevOps and automation standards, continuously improving processes where possible.
- Collaborate closely with developers, QA, BAs, and architects to ensure stable and predictable releases.
- Advocate for automation-first approaches to improve quality and team efficiency.
Success Measures
- Reliable, predictable releases with high deployment success rate and improving lead time for change.
- Reduction in manual testing effort through effective automation coverage.
- Fewer escaped defects due to strong quality gates and regression automation.
- Positive feedback from developers, QA, and stakeholders on release cadence, communication, and support.
