The Agile Delivery Center Spain @ Capgemini is a specialized hub located in Murcia and Valencia, focused on delivering innovative software solutions
using Agile methodologies like Scrum and SAFe.
We work with large international customers across Europe, using a distributed agile model.

We are looking for Software Engineers with at least 3 years of experience in software development projects, with fluent English and/or French, very

YOUR ROLE
As Software Engineer you will play a crucial role in development, maintenance and optimization of software solutions/applications specializing in PHP/DRUPAL
technologies. You will work in a multidisciplinary and international environment with cutting-edge technologies. In Agile environments, you will collaborate with the
continuous improvement of development processes.
In our teams, a Software Engineer applies scientific methods to analyze and solve software engineering problems. He/she is responsible for research and acquire
knowledge in its technical discipline. He/she collaborates and acts as team player with other software engineers and stakeholders.
The Software Engineer builds skills and expertise of his/her software discipline to reach standard software engineer skills expectations for the applicable role, as
defined in our internal Professional Communities.
YOUR TASKS
- Developing and maintaining Software: Create and maintaining high-quality Software Applications using Java and related technologies. Participate in the
development of the most complex functionalities. - Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other engineers, to deliver robust software solutions.
- Code Reviews: Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure code quality, performance, and security. Supervise developments carried out by the team. Disseminate best practices and development processes.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve software engineering practices. Propose
improvements in application development. - Technical Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers, ensuring best practices in coding and design. Help the team identify pending
work in a project
YOUR PROFILE
You have more than 4 years of professional experience in software development, are fully competent in your area of specialization, and possess in‑depth knowledge of programming concepts, software design, and software development principles. You are able to act as a key contributor in complex environments and to lead a team’s activities in the design and development of software. You act proactively to understand the needs of internal and external clients, offering guidance even when not explicitly requested. You can assess and adapt to project challenges, formulate innovative solutions, work under pressure, and guide the team to achieve both technical and business objectives. You take profitability into account and can manage the costs of a project or specific work area. You explain complex concepts to different audiences, ensuring their understanding. You motivate other team members and build informal networks with key contacts outside your area.
- Mastery of PHP and Drupal: Extensive experience with PHP 7–8, object‑oriented programming, design patterns, and PSR standards. Strong experience with Drupal 8–10, including custom module development, advanced theming with Twig, use of services and dependency injection containers, entities, hooks, and Drush.
- Software development lifecycle: Solid knowledge of the full development lifecycle and agile methodologies such as Scrum. Ability to participate in technical design, estimations, refinements, and roadmap activities.
- Complementary technical knowledge: Familiarity with the Symfony ecosystem (Drupal’s foundation), REST/JSON APIs, integration with external services, Composer, YAML, cache control, exportable configuration (CMI), and performance diagnostics/optimization.
- DevOps competencies: Experience working in Linux/UNIX environments, use of shell scripts, CI/CD with GitLab CI, Jenkins or similar, automated deployments, Docker containers, and configuration management.
- Database management: Experience with relational databases (MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL) and knowledge of NoSQL solutions when required. Ability to design schemas, optimize queries, and analyze performance.
- Testing and debugging: Mastery of unit and functional testing in PHP using PHPUnit, PHPStan, Behat, or other tools. Extensive experience debugging and resolving issues in complex environments.
- Version control: Experience with Git, GitLab, and GitHub, including branching flows, merge requests, code review, and quality standards.
- Communication skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with remote and multidisciplinary teams.
- Fluent level of French and English to interact with teams and clients.
- Problem‑solving skills: Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with the capacity to make informed technical decisions and anticipate project‑level risks.
