Job Description
We are seeking an exceptional Delivery Solution Architect to join our Project Services team and play a pivotal leadership role within our managed service customer environments. In this position, you will embed yourself directly within key customer accounts—deeply understanding their technology landscape, shaping technical strategy, and guiding the evolution of complex enterprise environments.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Architecture & Solution Design
- Develop technical and solution architectures based on customer requirements, including gap analyses and remediation work packages.
- Create technical roadmaps that ensure environments remain modern, secure, and strategically aligned with customer business needs.
- Review and influence systems design decisions, ensuring efficient use of resources and optimal technology selection.
- Specify and design large-scale or complex systems across on-premises and cloud environments.
- Maintain deep, up-to-date specialist knowledge of infrastructure, database concepts, modelling techniques, design principles, and architecture standards.
Technical Leadership & Delivery
- Provide hands-on architectural support across infrastructure, cloud, virtualisation, and application platforms.
- Work closely with project teams to support solution implementation and ensure quality of delivery.
- Manage and develop capacity plans to support scalable and resilient operations.
- Promote technical excellence and knowledge sharing within the Practice.
- Provide guidance, QA leadership, and mentorship to peers across specialist domains.
Client Engagement & Advisory
- Embed within customer accounts to understand business drivers and technology portfolios.
- Identify opportunities to enhance customer environments and propose value-adding solutions.
- Lead solution demonstrations and showcase complementary technologies.
- Provide objective advice, specialist expertise, and insights to support improved business performance.
- Contribute to issue identification, solution formulation, and support clients through solution implementation.
Job Description - Grade Specific
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years’ experience in technical or solution architecture.
- Strong experience with traditional data centre technologies, covering infrastructure, applications, and platform integration.
- Expert-level knowledge across enterprise technologies including:
- Citrix, Hyper-V, VMware (VCP preferred), Linux, Wintel
- Azure (strong focus on IaaS; PaaS advantageous)
- AWS cloud capabilities
- Active Directory, ADFS, PKI
- Exchange, O365 administration
- SCOM, Nutanix, Hitachi Storage
- Solid understanding of on-premises infrastructure: networks, routers, switches, firewalls, SAN, servers, and operating systems.
- Experience with DevOps-aligned infrastructure delivery models.
- Hands-on scripting skills for automation, ideally PowerShell.
- Thorough understanding of:
- Virtualisation technologies
- IaaS, PaaS, SaaS models
- Enterprise cloud computing architecture
- ITIL v3 Foundation certification (preferred).
Soft Skills & Professional Capabilities
- Ability to balance functional, service quality, security, and system management requirements in solution design.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills with an ability to influence at multiple levels.
- Proven experience providing technical advisory and specialist consulting to enterprise clients.
- Ability to manage resources effectively to ensure successful systems integration activities.
- Capability to identify additional service opportunities within accounts and collaborate with Client Development teams.
- A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement, innovation, and technical excellence.
