Job Description
Role Overview
The selected engineer will work closely with a talented team to support Unified Communication customer issues and sustaining engineering activities. The role involves debugging complex VoIP/Voice Gateway issues, working on embedded C components, and ensuring high CSAT by delivering quick and high‑quality resolutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide L3/L4‑level support for UC and Voice Gateway products
- Analyze, debug, and resolve customer‑reported issues in VoIP and voice media components
- Work on embedded C codebase, crash analysis, memory corruption debugging, and protocol tracing
- Recreate customer scenarios, set up test beds, and validate fixes
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams for issue triage, defect resolution, and feature enhancements
Minimum Qualifications
- Computer Science or Computer Engineering with 4–6 years of experience in Telecom or Networking
- Strong hands‑on expertise in Embedded C programming and debugging large codebases
- Deep understanding of VoIP, SIP/MGCP/SCCP, RTP/RTCP, analog interfaces (FXS/FXO/E&M), and digital interfaces (T1/E1/PRI/BRI)
- Knowledge of voice supplementary services, DTMF relay (in‑band/out‑of‑band), T.38 fax relay, modem relay, V.150.1 MER
- Solid networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs) and proficiency with packet capture tools (Wireshark)
- Strong system‑level debugging and ability to set up complex test environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in customer support, sustaining engineering, or TAC
- Expertise with debugging tools such as gdb
- Knowledge of WebEx Calling, Microsoft Cloud Calling, and ZTP
- Experience working with Cisco UC platforms like CUCM and collaboration tools
- Strong teamwork, quick learning ability, and result‑driven attitude
Primary Skills
