Your Role
In this role you will play a key role in:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive payments strategy in alignment with the FS sector and industry goals and objectives.
- Lead a team of payments professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure high performance and productivity.
- Stay abreast of industry developments, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to drive innovation and compliance within the payments function.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver the best e2e solution for clients.
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of payment systems, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
As part of your role you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the business and your own personal growth, through activities that form part of the following categories:
• Business Development – Leading/contributing to proposals, RFPs, bids, proposition development, client pitch contribution, client hosting at events.
• Internal contribution – Campaign development, internal think-tanks, whitepapers, practice development (operations, recruitment, team events & activities), offering development.
• Learning & development – Training to support your career development and the skills demand within the company, certifications etc.
Your Profile
Ideally you should have the following:
- Proven senior level experience in payments operations, in progressively responsible roles.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of successfully managing teams and driving results.
- In-depth knowledge of payment systems, technologies, and industry best practices leveraging a robust network of key stakeholders and clients, trade associations, regulators in the payment space in the UK and Europe
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements, compliance standards, and risk management principles in the payments domain.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to think strategically, make data-driven decisions, and adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
You will be currently working in a major Consulting firm, and/or in industry but having a Consulting background with proven ability to be successful in a matrixed organisation, and to enlist support and commitment from peers in selling and delivering consulting solutions.
• Experience of proposition building and delivery.
• Business development – utilising a combination of the organisation’s broader pre-existing relationships, company relationships and your own network, you’ll be generating c.£4m of direct consulting revenues (Vice President).
