YOUR ROLE

We are looking for an AI Engineer & Data Scientist (Google Cloud focus) to strengthen Capgemini Portugal’s Data & AI consulting team. You will design and deliver end-to-end AI solutions (predictive/prescriptive ML and GenAI), support project execution, and contribute to commercial initiatives by shaping solutions that are scalable, secure, and production-ready on Google Cloud.

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Design and implement predictive and prescriptive AI solutions (problem framing, feature engineering, modeling, evaluation, and deployment), aligned with business outcomes.
• Build and industrialize GenAI solutions (e.g., RAG patterns, evaluation, prompt/version management, safety controls), integrating with client systems and data sources.
• Implement MLOps practices on Vertex AI (pipelines, experiments/metadata tracking, model monitoring, retraining automation and governance).
• Work closely with Data Engineers/Architects to leverage modern data platforms and robust data pipelines for AI workloads.
• Ensure Responsible AI principles (privacy, security, transparency, bias awareness, auditability) are embedded by design.
• Support pre-sales: contribute to technical solutioning, estimates, proposals, and client workshops/demos in a consulting context.
• Collaborate with internal communities to share best practices and contribute to reusable assets/accelerators.

YOUR PROFILE

• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in AI/ML delivery (consulting/project environments are a plus).
• Solid hands-on background in predictive & prescriptive ML and ML lifecycle practices.
• Experience building/operationalizing GenAI solutions and understanding of LLMOps concepts (evaluation, monitoring, governance).
• Practical experience with Google Cloud / Vertex AI (pipelines, training/deploy, monitoring) and strong Python/SQL skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ownership mindset, structured problem solving, ability to work in ambiguous environments.
• Fluency in Portuguese and English.
• Nice-to-have: GCP certifications; experience with vector DBs/search for RAG; experience delivering client workshops and proposals in consulting.
