Responsibilities:

As a Director – Data Strategy Lead, you will spearhead the Data Strategy capability within Capgemini Invent India’s Enterprise Data Analytics (EDA) team. You will be responsible for shaping, selling, and delivering strategic data consulting engagements that drive business transformation through data. This role demands a visionary leader with deep expertise in data strategy, architecture frameworks, cloud modernization, and AI, coupled with strong customer-facing and storytelling abilities.

You will bring a pure-play data consulting background, with awareness or certification in TOGAF, Zachman, and DAMA, and a proven ability to translate complex data concepts into compelling business narratives.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

• Lead strategic conversations with CXOs and senior stakeholders, positioning Capgemini Invent’s data strategy offerings.
• Define and execute enterprise-wide data strategies aligned with business goals, leveraging frameworks like TOGAF, Zachman, and DAMA.
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients on data modernization, Data Quality, governance, MDM and AI-driven transformation.
• Build and lead a high-performing data strategy team, fostering consulting excellence and continuous learning.
• Mentor and develop talent across data architecture, governance, and analytics domains.
• Architect and deliver scalable data solutions including Data Lakes, Data Mesh, and Cloud-native platforms.
• Drive cloud data modernization initiatives across AWS, Azure, and GCP, integrating AI/ML capabilities.
• Oversee large-scale data programs using agile methodologies, ensuring quality and business impact.

Primary Skills

• Bachelor’s/master’s in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
• 16+ years of experience in data consulting, strategy, and enterprise architecture.
• Deep understanding of data architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman), data governance (DAMA)
• Proficiency in at least 2 cloud technologies – AWS, Azure, GCP, with extensive experience deploying AI-driven solutions at scale.
• Awareness of AI Governance, latest Data & AI trends
• Hands-on experience in creating data warehouses, Data lakes, ETL/ELT, Data pipelines, and reporting/analytic tools and environment
• Good knowledge in the Gen AI area and how data can support the advent of GenAI
• Proven experience in cloud data modernization, AI/ML integration, and GenAI readiness.
• Hands-on expertise in building data warehouses, lakes, pipelines, and analytics environments.
• Strong storytelling and interpersonal skills with a customer-first mindset.
• Demonstrated success in one or more industries such as Life Sciences, Consumer Products & Retail (CPR), Automotive, or Manufacturing.
