YOUR ROLE

The Cost Engineer serves the vehicle-level cost program manager from the initial concept to the end of life for a vehicle program. This role involves owning the overall vehicle cost definition and cost management process, ensuring uniformity in the development, and tracking of component targets, and managing change processes.

The Cost Engineer will develop vehicle-level targets for technical cost and investment/tooling (the checkbook) to support the vehicle’s overall business case. They act as the primary contact for Purchasing regarding target cost and investment concerns during the sourcing process.

YOUR PROFILE

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or a bachelor’s degree in finance.
• 1-2 years of automotive industry experience at an OEM or large Tier 1 supplier, including one or more of the following areas: Engineering Program Management (Technical or Financial), Vehicle Program Management (Technical or Financial) or Engineering Design & Development.
• Excellent relationship-building skills.
• Ability to present ideas and concepts successfully to all levels of management.
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience in engineering vehicle cost analysis.
• Familiarity with finance terminology.
• Experience using financial management systems (Fastcar2 is preferred).
• Advanced English is mandatory.
