• Your Role

  As a Senior FPGA Design Engineer at NEC Mobile Network Excellence Center (NMEC), Chennai, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing FPGA-based hardware systems for Datacom and Aerospace applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate system components and demonstrate proof-of-concept designs in advanced technologies.

  In this role, you will:

  • Implement FPGA code on target hardware and test with system components and software.
  • Perform RTL design, implementation, testing, and integration of FPGA-based systems.
  • Deliver high-performance hardware solutions for Datacom and Aerospace applications.
  • Participate in R&D activities to demonstrate proof-of-concept designs for aerospace technologies.
  • Work with evaluation kits and hardware using Vivado/Vitis tools.
  • Use hardware debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, signal analyzers, and JTAG emulators.

  Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (BE/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech or equivalent).
  • 4–6 years of experience in FPGA design and development.
  • Proficient in FPGA design flows using Xilinx tools including simulation, synthesis, debugging, and optimization.
  • Strong knowledge of Verilog, VHDL, and SystemVerilog.
  • Experience integrating Soft IP/Hard IP such as GTX/GTH transceivers, MAC, DMA, PCIe Gen3, CPRI, JESD, FFT.
  • Skilled in developing verification environments with self-checking testbenches, BFMs, checkers, monitors, and scoreboards.
  • Familiarity with control interfaces like AMBA AXI, UART, SPI, I²C, DDR, Ethernet, and USB.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware bring-up and testing methodologies.
  • Good to have: scripting skills in Perl, TCL, or Python; experience in linting, STA, equivalence checking, and CDC verification.
