Your Role
As the Cloud Engineering Lead, you will play a pivotal role in driving cloud engineering excellence and enabling large-scale transformation and migration initiatives. You will lead by example, ensuring engineering best practices, resolving complex technical challenges, and fostering collaboration across delivery streams. This role requires a blend of strategic leadership and hands-on technical expertise to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud solutions in a mission-critical environment.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Enhance engineering efficiency across delivery streams to support scalable and accelerated execution.
- Proactively identify and escalate engineering risks or issues during design reviews or technical discussions, ensuring timely resolution by engaging the appropriate stakeholders.
- Support delivery teams by triaging blockers and offering clear guidance to tech leads on complex engineering challenges.
- Review operational runbooks and assist during go-live weekends, ensuring swift resolution of engineering-related incidents.
- Act as a hands-on engineer when required, capable of deep-diving into technical problems and providing impactful support to delivery squads.
- Empower engineering squads across the program by providing architectural guidance, optimising design and integration patterns, promoting best practices, and streamlining the process.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing, global teams. Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and vendors to ensure the delivery of high-quality and cost optimised transformation.
Your Profile
- Banking and Financial Services domain experience.
- 10+ years in cloud engineering or architecture roles, including 4+ years in leadership positions.
- Strong experience with AWS and/or GCP services and architecture and professional certification in AWS or GCP.
- Deep knowledge of APIs, microservices architecture, infrastructure, data architecture, and security, with authoritative expertise in one or more of these areas.
- Strong experience in uplifting DevOps strategies such as Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Continuous Integration and automated deployment.
- Demonstrated experience of leading end to end technical delivery, building engineering teams that work on mission-critical, high-performance systems.
- Strong background in managing diverse business and technical stakeholders.
- Experience in platform modernization or cloud migration projects. Experience in leading multiple cloud migration and transformation projects which includes rehosting, replatforming, and refactoring strategies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Strong understanding of security best practices in cloud-native environments.
- Experience designing and implementing solutions for real-time payments, cross-border payments, and digital wallets
- Familiarity with payment gateways, acquiring/issuing banks, and integration with third-party payment providers
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance in Banking
