Your role
In this role as a Repair Stress Engineer, you will be part of a multidisciplinary engineering team providing critical stress analysis expertise for aircraft structures. You will focus on evaluating and substantiating repairs and reworks on airframe primary structures through static, fatigue, and damage tolerance analysis.
In this role you will play a key role in:
- Reviewing, analyzing, and providing final stress justification for reworks and repairs on defects in airframe primary structures
- Ensuring repair acceptance based on equivalent strength capability and equivalent account stress levels
- Working closely with Design Engineers to provide timely stress substantiations for structural modifications
- Collaborating with the Stress Engineering team to resolve complex technical issues related to structural integrity
- Performing detailed static, fatigue, and damage tolerance analyses to ensure airworthiness compliance
- Creating comprehensive documentation of stress analysis work files following industry standards
- Utilizing finite element analysis tools to model and evaluate structural behavior under various loading conditions
- Supporting Material Review Board (MRB) activities with technical expertise and engineering judgment
Your profile
- Good conversational English (B2, C1, C2)
- Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in aircraft structural analysis (Mid & Senior levels)
- Experience in Material Review Board (MRB) or Manufacturer Authorized Procedures for commercial or business aircraft
- Strong background in static, fatigue, damage tolerance analysis, and finite element analysis
- Experience working in design offices focused on aircraft structures (Airframe)
- In-depth knowledge of stress calculations and justifications for aerospace applications
- Solid understanding of aeronautical materials and their properties
- Proficiency with analysis tools such as NASTRAN, PATRAN, and FEMAP
- Experience with CAD software including CATIA V5 and SOLIDWORKS
- Knowledge of crack growth analysis software such as NASGRO and/or AFGRO
- Strong skills in MS Office with emphasis on Excel and VBA programming
- Ability to work autonomously while maintaining excellent teamwork capabilities
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
