Job Description
Job Purpose
We are seeking a skilled Calypso Application Analyst Programmer to support and enhance Calypso-based back-office systems. This role focuses on ensuring seamless operations across the trade lifecycle, driving continuous improvements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Application Support & Incident Management
- Provide Level 2 support for Calypso back-office applications.
- Investigate and resolve user-reported incidents promptly.
- Coordinate with stakeholders during major incidents, ensuring timely updates and resolution.
- Implement long-term solutions to recurring issues and contribute to root cause analysis.
Monitoring & Reporting
- Design and implement robust application monitoring strategies.
- Oversee daily/monthly batch processes and proactively address issues.
- Produce regular reports on system performance and data integrity.
Continuous Improvement & Knowledge Sharing
- Collaborate with build teams to address bugs and implement enhancements.
- Maintain and update internal documentation and knowledge bases.
- Conduct training sessions to empower users and reduce support demand.
- Mentor junior team members and foster a culture of learning.
Change & Release Management
- Participate in release testing, performance tuning, and deployment planning.
- Support production releases, including weekend deployments on a rotational basis.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience with Calypso back-office systems.
- Proficiency in Calypso versions 16 and 18.
- Strong understanding of financial instruments (Repos, Bonds, Securities) and the trade lifecycle.
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting standards (e.g., MMSR).
Technical Skills
- Working knowledge of Java, PL/SQL, and Linux.
- Experience with UNIX platforms and databases (Oracle, Sybase, Big Data).
- Scripting proficiency (Python, Shell, PowerShell, SQL).
- Exposure to monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Kibana) and job schedulers (Control-M).
- Familiarity with DevOps tools (Git, Jenkins, Ansible) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Functional Skills
- Deep understanding of Calypso modules: Engines, Events, Filters, Reporting Framework, Transfers, Accounting, Workflows.
- Experience supporting capital markets applications, ideally in Market Risk or Front Office environments.
Desirable
- Exposure to object-oriented programming (Java).
- Experience with microservices architecture and Spring Boot.
- Familiarity with broader Capital Markets platforms.
Working Hours
- Standard office hours: 9:00 AM – 6:30 PM or 11:00 AM – 8:30 PM.
- On-call rotation may be required for weekend operations.
