Your Role
As an IP Network Engineer, you will design, implement, and manage IP networks in the telecom domain, ensuring secure, stable, and high-performing infrastructure. You’ll configure network devices, troubleshoot issues, maintain documentation, and collaborate with teams to meet technical requirements.
You will play a key role in:
- Network Design and Implementation: Planning, designing, and implementing IP networks in telecom domain
- Device Configuration and Management: Configuring and managing routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.
- Network Security: Implementing and maintaining network security policies, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and network access control (NAC).
- Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Troubleshooting network problems, diagnosing issues, and implementing solutions to ensure network stability and performance.
- Documentation and Standardization: Documenting network configurations, procedures, and policies, and ensuring adherence to industry standards.
- Collaboration: Working with other IT professionals and stakeholders to ensure network requirements are met.
- IP Address Management: Auditing and managing IP addresses, ensuring proper allocation and utilization.
- Network Performance Monitoring: Monitoring network performance, identifying bottlenecks, and optimizing network configurations.
- Network Upgrades and Maintenance: Performing regular network maintenance, upgrades, and patching to ensure system stability and security.
- Security Measures: Implementing security measures to protect network infrastructure and data from unauthorized access
Your Profile
- Education: A bachelor's degree or Tertiary qualification in computer science, telecommunications, engineering, or a related field is often required.
- Certifications: Industry certifications, such as Cisco certifications (CCIE, CCNA, CCNP), will be essential.
- IP Protocol Knowledge: A strong understanding of IP protocols, networking concepts, and technologies.
- Network Design and Architecture: Experience in designing and implementing Telecom network architectures for various environments – mostly IP networks.
- Network Data Center: 'Data Centre fabric knowledge including ACI, EVPN-VXLAN.
- Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot network issues, diagnose problems, and implement effective solutions.
- Security Knowledge: Knowledge of network security principles and technologies.
- Communication and Collaboration: Good communication and collaboration skills to work with other IT professionals and stakeholders.
