Job Description
As a Technical Project Manager, you will be responsible for the coordination, execution, and reporting of all activities related to the development and integration of a technical sub-system within a larger propulsion or vehicle platform program. You will ensure alignment across engineering, suppliers, and project stakeholders to meet cost, timing, and quality objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Management & Reporting
- Lead the preparation and execution of core engineering initiatives.
- Support the Sub-System Technical Table and ensure alignment with overall project execution.
- Coordinate project management activities including:
- Timeline definition and tracking
- Component delivery schedules
- Cost control and optimization
- Parts procurement and logistics
- Supplier coordination and performance monitoring
- Change management processes
- Synchronize activities between sub-system and system-level teams.
- Drive governance processes, milestone reviews, and escalation reporting.
- Lead change management efforts with a focus on cost impact and implementation timing.
Cost Management
- Own the sub-system funding strategy and execution.
- Build and manage the total Engineering, Research & Development (ER&D) budget, including prototype costs.
- Monitor and report on:
- Total Product Cost (TPC)
- Tooling Budget and Expenditures
- Capital Expenditures (CAPEX)
- Overall budget adherence and optimization
Timing & Planning
- Define and commit to sub-system development schedules aligned with propulsion system and vehicle platform timelines.
- Develop and maintain detailed timing plans in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Create and manage launch plans for multiple vehicle applications (Application Plan).
